Women's Lnstitute has entertaining evening
The Holyrood Women's Institute held
their entertaining evening enNov. 7 at the
hall. Mrs. Charles Murray presided, and
following the Ode and the Mary Stewart
Collect, . read a poem on Remembrance
Day.
Mrs. William MacPherson read the
minutes, financial statement and corres-
pondence. Donations were made to the
Wingham Seniors Day Care Centre, and to
the Hospital for Sick Children, London.
Mrs. Charles Murray , gave a splendid
report : of the area convention, at Owen
Sound and Mrs. Weir Eckenswiller also
gave a full report of the rally at Elmwood in
a humorous manner. The rollcall was
"Bring a friend, or neighbour and intro-
duce • her".
The motto was "Sing,'say.or pay" which
was the 'program. Those taking part were,
Mrs. Lorne Eadie, Mrs. Kevin Murray,
Miss May Boyle, Mrs. Weir Eckenswiller,
Mrs. Harold Smith, Mrs. Frank. Maulden,

Many children in underdeveloped
countrieis will be helped fromthe
generous do`nations of residents of the
area to UNICEF. School children carried
the orange boxes around on 'Hallow-
e'en. Lucknow CGIT promoted the col-.
lection, preparing and distributing the
boxes, 'counting and sending in the
proceeds. • ,
This year's focus is to strengthen and
enrich educational programs for child-
ren in 113 countries where UNICEF is
involved.

Sympathy is extended to relatives of the
late Earl Percy (formerly of Kinlough) who
passed away at Matheson, Ontario, where
the funeral was held. He was in his 91st
year.

after being a patient in London at
University. Hospital. •

Bracebridge spent the weekend here with
relatives.

Schneller, formerly of 'the village, is a
patient in Wingham Hospital. Get well
