Midgets take two more
In Brussels on Wednesday the Midgets
took a good kick at the Brussels jinx when
they skated to a 6 - 2 victory. Although they
gave up a fast goal at the start of the ,game,
they answered quickly' on a .goal by Steve
de song from Jeff .Walden and. late in the
period after Brussels had taken a 2 -, 1 lead,
Walden tied the score on a picture goal. As
the game progressed, the Lucknow team
kept getting stronger. The •game winner
came mid -way in the second. from Steve
Huffman assisted by Chris Irwin..
In third period action, three unanswered.
goals put the game in the bag. Irwin set the
tone with an unassisted marker early in the
period.. Steve de Jong finished a play from
Irwin and .Andy Grazier for the fifth goal
while Steve Huffman finished the scoring
from Irwin with about six minutes left on
the clock.
Monday's home game was a bit of
mismatch as the home team trounced'
Howick-Wallace 14 - . 1. It took a few
minutes for the Midgets . to get their act
together. Although Lucknow scored first,
the opposition :quickly tied the score and
kept things close, until John Vandervel"de
scored the game' winner late in the first
period. White the Nisitors might have liked
to calf the game at that point, there was no
escape as Lucknow took .charge scoring
eight second period and four third period
goals. Scoreboard points were shared by 13•
players although Chris Irwin setthe pace
with 4 assists and 3 goals while Scott
Hackett scored 4 and assisted on 2 more.
Defensively, 'blueliners Garry Forster,
Jeff Gibson, Grazier, Jamie Humphrey and
Steve Murray provide strong support for.
Brian Reavie, who although not ' over-
worked, turned in some timely saves.
Reavieis off to a fast start 'between the
pipes with a goals against under 2.0.
Please note the Midgets .do, not have a
home game ,this Monday as exams inter-
fere with hockey.
