Leafy booklet. conservation area. trip

Grde 3, 4 sent. pet well cards to Chris
Bunion who has recently undergone sur-
gery. Chris was ,sent best wishes for a
speedy recovery and the hope he will be
returning soon.
After the Grade 2, room 3 trip to the
conservation area, for "Autumnin Walk -
Autumn Talk" the follow up activity was
making a leafy tree booklet based on the
five senses. -
Grade .8 students are working On their
string art projects.
Grade 1 Room 5 had a .very busy week,
indeed! On Tuesday ' morning the class
visited Art Bell's Qrchard and Zehrs: On
Wednesday the ' class . made and tasted
vegetable soup. Most students found it
very good. On Thursday Grade 1, Room 5
continued working on the apple unit and
made apple sauce.
Grade 3s also handed in leaf collections
this week, done as an extensions of the
West Wawanosh Conservation Area trip.
The leaf collections were well done and
included some unusual leaves.
Mrs. Worsell's Grade 5 , class just
completed a novel study 'on a variety of
novels based on ,their food theme.
Kindergarten has been talking about
• apples ,, as well. The apple people look very
nice. .
/ Congratulations to all .Brookside runners
who competed in yesterday's cross country
meet. Our senior and junior boys team both
won pennants and Julie Pentland and
Warren. Andrew won first place medallions
for their individual performances. Other
runners finishing in the top five in their
divisions were Traci Curran, Scott Rintoul,
Eric Andrew, Joyce McWhinney, Tanya
Hodges, Joel Wright, Robert Ireland,
Adrian Rau, Jeff Storey, Bobby Thompson,
and Kirk Neuhook.
Special thanks to the parents to acted as
marshalls for the meet and to Mr. Wilkins
who did so much in setting up the cross.

Mrs. Clarke's Room 4 is happy to intro-
duce the Room 4 Alphabet. We have 26
people in ourclass, so are an alphabet!
Each person has a letter! This week we
talked about World Food Day. Some coun-
tries don't have much food or water. Grant
Cairncross is our "Special Me", this week..
We also made • vegetable prints using
vegetables and corn.
