Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Harlow Stonehouse on their 45th wedding anniver- sary. / The South Kinloss choir and Rev. Ramsay put on entertainment at the Pine - crest Manor on Sunday afternoon. Helen Maclntyre of Waterloo was home for the weekend. Helen and Carie Fenton of Brockville were visitors with Helen's mother and sister, Olive Needham and Nancy Macln- tyre and family. Mr. and Mrs. Doug Messenger, Jamie and Tom have moved back to this area from Scandia, Alberta. Doug has opened up a wood work shop in Whitechurch. Recent visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Dick McQuillin and Ron were Harvey and Isabel McQuillin, St. Catharines; Lynda McQuil- 4-H Club members at :October meeting St. Joseph's CWL held their October meeting in the parish hall with Kathy Olson presiding. Opening prayers were led by Father Dentinger. There were 22. member's, three visitors and 12 members of the "Mad Mixers" 4-H Homemaking Club present. One visitor was a newcomer to the area, Toni Keuls, who, along with her husband are the new owners of Sullivan's Restaurant which will now be known as the "King's Place". • Maria Dalton, who' is involved 'in the Haitian Experience '86 Trip explained how the proceeds from the Fund Raising draw will help finance the trip. She also asked for help from the members in selling these tickets. . Agnes Van Osch, president of the 4-H Club, explained the activities of the club and what the members had learned in this baking club. Prior to the meeting the girls held a bake sale of delicious cakes,pies, squares which they had made themselves. Delores Van Osch, who, is filling in as recording secretary'for the remainder of the year, read the minutes of the last meeting which were read and adopted as correct. Following .the treasurer's report, and reading of the eorrespondence, Bernardine Kinney, Senior Citizens Convener, report- ed on the Open House which she had held on Sunday for the newcomers in the area. She also reported visiting several sick people and shutins in the area. Clarice Dalton reported on the Pro -Life Rally held in Toronto recently. Th Annual Pro -Life meeting and Pot Luck super.will be held on Oct. 29 at Holmesville. Mrs. JOanne Menary gave a report on Beavers, Cubs, Brownies and Girl Guides. The Girl Guides are going to Farrish's Nursing Home once a month. Reta Howard gavel a report on' the Seniors Fall birthday party which was held in September. A vote was taken to decide if the Annual Pot Luck Supper should be. continued or have it catered to by another church group. The vote favoured 17' - 5 that we continue our Pot Luck Supper. The Youth Club will serve and cleanup and will receive 4 dona- tion. This is planned for Monday, ,Dec. 2. Shirley Martin volunteered to do the Christmas shopping for our sick and shut ins again this year. In other business it was announced that the, pictures not taken for the Church Directory in August will now be taken on Nov. 22. The membership drive is still on. Stephanie Miltenburg is the Membership Convener. This was the final night for the Miles for Pennies Collection. Brother Carl Voll is celebrating. the 40th anniversary of his final vows on Oct. 24. Father Alan King', Missionary Priest and a nephew of Clarice Dalton, will be guest speaker at the November meeting.
