William Hugh Ferguson
•• On September184.. 1985 William Hugh
.Ferguson of Lucknow and formerly of
• *Huron Township, passed away at Wing -
ham and District Hospital in his 76th year.
- He was born June 21, 1910 in Huron
Township to John Ferguson Sr. and Idella
Potter. .
• In 1948 he married Margaret MacMur-
chy who survives' with six sons. Glen of
Amherstburg, Ronald of Thornhill, Grant
of Huron Township; Wayne of Lucknow,
Roy of Kanata and.Kevin of Kitchener, and/
two .daughters, Mary Lynne of London and
Carol at home..
He is also survived by two brothers,
• John and Lester of Huron Townshipand
four sister, Alexandria Geddes of Kincar-
dine, Evelyn Pill of Mattawa, Annie Irwin
of Ripley and Wilda MacKay of Kincard-
ine. There are four grandchildren.
• • . Bill Ferguson had farmed all of his life in
Huron "Township. but resided in Luclmow
since 1975.
The funeral service was conducted at the
MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Home,
• Lucimow September.,22, 1985, with Rev.
,Warren. McDougall officiating.
• The pallbearers were his six sons; Glen,
- Ron; Grant, Wayne, • Roy and Kevin.
Flower bearer* were friends and neigh-
' bourt, Gordon- Elliott, Jack ,Maelerman,
. Harry lavis and Bill Stanley and his two
. brothers John and 1.ester.
Interment was ,in Lochalsh Cemetery.
William Graham Heed
William Graham Reed of VVingham and
,formerly of Kinloss Township, died Sept-
ember 24, 1985 of heart failure. He was 94
years old.
• He was born in. Hawtrey in Norfolk
County on September 3, 1891. Floranna
Johnston. and his mother and W. P. Reed of
Lucknow raised the child.
He was married to Debra Webster of
Lucknow on September 17, 1913. Children
surviving are Dick, Hazel Park, Michigan;
Mrs. Archie (Birdie) Nicholson, Lucknow;
Mrs, Ben (Jeanne) Brown, Port Albert and
•Mrs, Ford (Eunice) Cunningham, Luck-
-now.
. The Lucknow United Church member
was predeceased by his wife Debra
Webster Reed, sons Williani, Harvard and
Harold, grandson Kevin Reed and grand-
daughter,Janine Reid.
The funeral service was held September
27 at MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral
Rome, Lucknow with Rev. Warren Me
Dougall officiating. Connie McInnes and
.
Ray. Cunningham were flower bearers and
Floyd -Milne, Donald Nicholson, Doug
Brown, Ken Reid, Bill Brown and Ron
Reed were pallbearers. Interment was in
Greenhill Cemetery, ••
Michele Humphrey
George and •Marjorie Humphrey are
• pleased to announce that their daughter,
Michele, has been successful in her
registration exams for the Ontario College
of Nurses. Mithele is a graduate of the
• Wingham and District School of Nursing
Assistants and is employed at Wingham.

the wedding of Andrew Page, R. R. 1,
Holyrood and Cathy Gillespie, also of R R.
1 Holyrood at Anglican Church of Ascen-
sion, Kinlough, on August 10, 1985. The
• groom is, the son of Fled and Joan, Page
and the bride is the daughter of Don and
• Marion Gillespie, an of R R. 1, Holyrood.
The maid of honour was Sue Hodgins and
bridesmaids were Betty Anne Thompson
and Theresa. Schmidt. Richard Page stood
as groomsman and Ron Gillespie and Steve
Eckenswiller were ushers. The reception
was held at the Teeswater Community
• Centre, followed by a wedding trip to
Burlington. The couple will reside at R R.
1, Holyrood.

Institute was held on September 24 at 8:00
. p.m. at 'the Institute .hall. Mrs. Donald
• Matthews was hostess for the evening.
Mrs. . Robert Gilchrist, the president,
• welcomed members and special guests
.from 'Silver 'Lake Institute and -England.
Mrs.. Elsie •• Houston and Mrs. Frank
MacKenzie' introduced their institute
• guests from Staffordshire, England, Mrs.
•Celia Barnes ' and Mrs. Doreen Mason.
Mrs. JOhn Forster read the scripture. Mrs.
• Gilchrist read an appropriate poem .about
making new friends.
• •Mrs: Celia Barnes gave a humorous
• and interesting speech concerning the
organization Of the English Institutes and
• their 'community aCtivities. The institutes
in England support their own college for
the use of all its members.
Mrs. Elsie .Houston reported that Linda
• MacGuiness of TeesWater won the Bruce
County Scholarship Award.
Mrs. Harold Howaki introduced the•
meetings speaker, Mrs. Sharon Creighton.
Mrs. Creighton spoke on, all types of child
abuse. She helped everyone to understand
the law requiring all private citizens and
community workers to report any suspect-
• ed case of .abuse. ••
Mrs. Donald Matthews thanked Mrs.
Creighton on her interesting and informa-
tive speech. The roll call all members
• answered yes to' was "Would you report
child 'abuse? If not.... why?"
Mrs. Gordon Wall read a beautiful
prayer written by a desperate mother
• asking for, forgiveness for abusing her
children. •
Mrs. Matthews gave the courtesies.

• Harold Campbell served lunch at the close
of the meeting.
CRAIG - Kenneth and' Nancy Craig are
pleased to annotince the birth of their
daughter, Linsday Erin, 7 lbs. 15 Oz.,
•September 26, 1985 at Kincardine General ,
Hospital. Proud grandparents are Donald
and Lois Craig and Bill and Irene Haldenby
and great grandparents Cliff and Maiinie
Roulston, Mrs. Donelda Gossel and Mrs.
Eva Mitchell.
