Culbert reunion
in Dungannon
Seventy descendantsof the late Thomas
Culbert arid Jane Martin gathered at 'the
Dungannon Agricultural Hall August 25.
Harvey Culbert was master of .ceremon-
ies and Clair and Bonnie Hodges .played
stereo music while the guests gathered and
signed the guest book..
When everyone was . gathered at the
tables, Harvey asked the Blessing. A pot
luck dinner was enjoyed.
After dinner a moment's silence was
observed in . memory of Mary Sharpe,
Wiarton; Jack Errington, Lucknow;. Bob
Hoy, Goderich; Wm. Ruddock; Goderich;
Leonard Crawford, Wingham; Roy Cul=
bert, W iarton; Thos. Herbert Culbert, age
104 of. Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan and
Gerald Culbert, Lucknow, who passed
away since last reunion.
Clair and'Bonnie Hodges entertained the
children outdoors with games and contests
which the children enjoyed.
Harvey 'Culbert and Laverne- Culbert
with their wives, Becky and Donna, were in
Roland with the soldiers for the 40th'
anniversary this summer. Harvey told us a
bit about their visit and they had, many
photos to show: In 'a visit to one of the
soldiers cemeteries,, they came across a
tomb stone with their cousin Lame
Culbert's. name on/ it. This was quite a
surprise to them.
Evelyn Culbert mentioned the family
tree and family book which• she is eompil-
ing.
The minutes of last years. reunion and
treasurer's report was read by Belle Mole.,
The officers for ..1986 • are . as follows:
president, Harvey Culbert; first vice pres-
ident, Laverne Culbert; second vice presid-
ent, Thos. Culbert; secretary -treasurer;
• Belle. Mole.
Harvey moved a vote. of thanks to the
• outgoing officers.
Tom and DeloriseCulbert donated: gifts
to the oldest lady,. Evelyn Errington; oldest
. man, Archie .Nicholson and. largest family
present, Carol and Allister Nivins. '
. The person with the birthday closest to
the reunion (vas Brent Merkley, Goderich.
Luella ,.(daughter of. the late Lewis
Culbert) and her husband were relatives
coming the farthest, from Wisconsin,
U.S.A.
A .gift was presented to ; Tom and
Delorise Culbert who were celebrating
their wedding 'anniversary that day.
The reunion will be held on the fourth
Sunday in August 1986 at Dungannon
Agricultural Hall...
Relatives:came from Wisconsin, Kitch-
ener, Clinton, W iarton, Sarnia, Wingham,
Ridley, Lucknow, Dungannon and Goder.-

Reunion draws
116 people
One hundred and sixteen past and pres-
dent Langside residents signed the. register
for the reunion which •. was held at the
Wingham Armouries on Saturday, ' August
24. A lot of visiting and reminiscing was
done from 2 till 4.30 p.m. when the
committee in charge looked after a
delicious potluck dinner.
Families which were well represented
were the ' Wade' 'and Caskinette families:
Past presidents coming the longest
distance were Mr. and Mrs. Rod Inglis
from Earlton. The/ oldest person present
was Mrs. Margaret(Bob) Moffat. The
present Langside resident having lived'
there longest was Bob Orr.
A collection was held which was ample to
cover the expenses.
A display df old pictures from S. S. No.
8, S. S. No. 9 as well as langside
Presbyterian. Church activitieswere very
much enjoyed by all.
The committee in charge consisted of
Gordon and Marjorie W all, Gertie Tiffin
and Jessie Lapp.
