on the lawn at the home of the bride's
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Clarke.

hall on the evening of August 19 in honour
of Bonnie Clarke. Cathy Howald opened
the program with a few words and then
with Blanche Needham at the piano, the
song "Let Me Call You ,Sweetheart" was
sung. Then Bonnie was alled to the front
to make a cake from scratch with no recipe
(which turned out not bad). After this
Bonnie and her mother, Wilma, made a
wedding dress out of toilet tissue in five
minutes. Then getting serious, a lovely

Malfunctions claim two Ontario men
Malfunctioning propane refrigerators,
producing carbon monoxide fumes, have.
been blamed in the deaths of two Ontario
men in separate incidents over the past six
months. •
Jeffrey, Jaworski, 22„ of Kenora, was •
found dead in his parents' cabin near
Ignace, Ontario, on July 18. One June 15,
Felix Smith, 70, of St. Catharines, was
found dead in a cottage, near Matheson,
Ontario....
In -both instances, investigators with the
Ministry of Consumer • and. Commercial
Relations Fuels Safety Branch determined
that a malfunctioning propane refrigerator
had produced the carbon monoxide.
Lethal quantities of the colourlessand
odorless gas can be produced by propane -
refrigerators if the burner Hahne is not
properly adjusted or the flue passage is '
blocked by carbon deposits, scale, or other
debris.
'These recent, tragic incidents under-
score theunportance of having propane
refrigerators cleaned and adjusted every

Crop income
stabilization
The Form Income Stabilization Commis-
sion of Ontario has developed a three-year,
five -grain program to assist Ontario grow-
ers to stabilize • incomes. The program
establishes stabilization funds from which
payments may be made to the participating
grower after a year of depressed market -
prices for corn; soybeans, white beans,
winter . wheat and barley.
Funds are 'created by cash deposits from
the grower to the extent of one-third of
possible payouts; the other two-thirds of
any payout is funded by the Government of
Ontario. Th}s, payouts are on the basis of
• two dollars'" from the province for each
dollar paidfrom the grower's account.
Money in the account earns interest for
the -participant and any balance is returned
to the 'grower at the conclusion of the
program. .
The program is for the three-year period
covering the crop years. 1985,1986, 1987.
Final application date for the 1985 crop is
October 1, 1985.
Application ' forms will be mailed • to

Yes' • The WaterFurnace could be'called a freedom furnace!
Freedom from spiralling fossil fuel costs, .WaterFurnace
extracts the heat 'found only a few feet -below .the earth's
surface. This "free" heat. is available to us • at a constant
temperature_year 'round. Custorner's report savings up
to 80% over last years total heating bill. In the summer,
WaterFurnace IS an extremely efficient air conditioner. It's the
closest thing to being energy "self-sufficient". For further information
