Sympathy is extended, to Mr. and Mrs. Ross Irwin on the death of their daughter, Sherri. Dawn. Mrs. Irwin was the former Beattie Haldenby of our community. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Fry of Harriston and Poplar Beach, spent a few days with Mr. and Mrs. William E. Haldenby here. Mrs. Gary Fair and Jason, Mrs. Henry van de Klippe and April of Kincardine visited with their grandmother, Mrs. John Barr. j We extend sympathy to Mr. and Mrs. John Hodgins on the sudden death of her mother, Mrs. Maria. W anto, whose funeral was held August 24 ,in Toronto. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Hodgins, Mr. and Mrs. John E. Hodgins and Dr. and Mrs. Donald Hod- gins all went to Toronto on August 23 to be With John and JoAnne and other family members. Mrs. Wanto, who was originally I' from Austria, her been living here at Westford with. her daughter Jo -Anne and John Hodgins: ' Mr. • and Mrs. Wayne Rhody of. London and formerly of Kinlough, are enjoying a -a KINLOUGH by May Boyle holiday in Northern. Ontario. Michelle, 'Marianne, Mandy and Dan are holidaying here with the •Rhody families and Travers Brace. Mr. Joseph Guest of Brucelea Haven, Walkerton and Fred Guest of here, visited, with Mr. and Mrs: Tom McDonald. Tom and Nina and her father visited with Mrs. . Jennie McTavish at Walkerton. Mr. and Mrs. George Bushell, David and Janet of Ottawa, visited during the week with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Filbert .Bushell. • Mrs. , Howard Whiteside and Mrs. Marjorie Bennett of Torontovisited a few .days with their father, Mr. Arthur Halden- by. ' alden-by.' Mr. and Mrs.. Gary Fair and Jason, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Van de Klippe and April of •4{incardine. and Mrs. John Barr of here, were dinner guests on August 25 with Mr. • and Mrs. Jack Barr. Miss Winnifred Percy and Mrs. John Barr visited on Sunday with Edna and May Boyle. Wingham District :aids poor Beginning last January, staff opening/ mail in the Wingham District Office began tearingoff the' cancelled postage .stamps and saving them. Once a sizeable number were accumulated, they were sent to Oxfam -Canada. Oxfam -Canada' sells. 150 gram bags of on -paper mixtures of Canadian, British, ' Australian and world stamps for $5.00 to' $9.00, depending on the package. Offices, church groups, clubs and class- rooms have organized to save stamps from incoming mail. The stamps are forwarded to '.Ottawa for sorting by 20 volunteers. In 1983-84, $6000.00 was raised through this program, only, in. its third year. The money raised this year from, the program will help the poor of the' third world. "I would like to thank you personally as well as in Oxfam's name for the 'magnificent lot of used Canadian postage stamps off cover which you recently sent us," wrote Okfam stamp program volun- teer, T. A. Chadsey. "It is through • the efforts of individuals such as yourself and 'your friends that our program continues to flourish. Thank you again 'for your spirited effort and for the co-operation of your fellow "workers in the Ministry of Natural Resources." • • ' Andy Houser, W ingliam District 'Man- ager, said, "I am proud. to be a part of this most worthwhile project.
