Entertaining English guests
discussed at Aug. 14 meeting
The Agriculture and Canadian Industries
meeting was held the evening of August 14
at the home of Mrs. Catherine Wilson.
President Mrs. Currie welcomed- all and
opened with Ode, Collect and Lord's
Prayer, Mrs. Curriegave a reading,
-"Cats,". The minutes and financial state-
ment were. given by secretary Mrs. Farrier.
The roll call was answered by 12 giving
"a skill my mother taught me". Two
guests were present.
'A discussion followed on entertaining
our English guests in September. The
September meeting is on Tuesday, Sept-
ember 17 with a pot luck supper at 6. 0.
The motto, "No one's heart will harden
planting seeds in .Fr'iendship's Garden"
was from Mrs. Metcalfe. The reading was,
The Pitcher Plant, the flower of Newfound- .
land" by Mrs. Catherine Wilson. The
contest was naming wild flowers and vege-
tables from pictures, which was won by
Mary Hehn. The meeting closed ,with the
singing -of the national anthem. and Grace.
Lunch was served by Mrs. Norma
Falconer, Mrs. Mae Johnston and ,Mrs.
Myrtle Metcalfe. .

Fred Davis, Mark and Scott of La Salle
were up, for the weekend with Mrs,. Agnes
Farrier to attend a family picnic, : but owing
to the rainy weather the picnic could not be
held.
Visitors on August 18 with Mr. and Mrs.
E. W. Beecroft were Mr. and Mrs. Glen
Sinnamon and Ken Sinnamon, all of Wing -
ham.
Miss Karen Beecroft of Kitchener spent
the . weekend 'with her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. E. W . Beecroft.

August 17 caller with Mr. and Mrs. Victor
Emerson.
Mr. and Mrs. Carl McClenaghan
attended a horse show at Elmira on August
18 and later visited with Mr. and Mrs.

18 with Mr. and Mrs. Ron Nicholson, Erin,.
Ryan and Craig of Egmondville.

spending a week'sholidays with Mr. and
Mrs. Walter Elliott and Karen.

Wesley Tiffin in Wingham Hospital.
All the relatives attended the 25th
wedding anniversary of Mr.' and Mrs.
Grant McIntyre held on Saturday evening
at which his father, Jack McIntyre, ' was
able to be present.

Lauren of London were recent visitors with
her parents, Mr.. and Mrs. Elroy Laidlaw.

to visit with her daughter, Miss Joyce

on August 18 on Mr. and Mrs. Victor -
Emerson and told that his mother, Mrs..
Calvert Falconer of Blyth, had gone to
Huronview at Clinton where her husband
Calvert is.
Florence McQuillan of Toronto and
Beatrice McQuillin of St. Helens were
weekend visitors with Mr.' and •Mrs. ' Bill
