The Wroxeter Mites fastball tournament
which started July 12 concluded July 27.
Luclmow's first game was a loss against
Bluevgile by a 14 - 9 score. Steve Porter led
the hitting with ahorner and single. Keith
Todd and Clint Murray shared the pitching
duties..,
The second ganie was an easy, one with
• Lucknow beating Cargill 39 - 4. Steve
Porter homered ti.vice. Clint Murray did the
• pitching in this game and had a home run
• as did Chad Thomas and Adrian Helm.
• Ludmow then' defeated Tiverton 11 - '5.
• Keith Todd' pitthed an excellent game
allowing only four hits and four walks.
Steve Porter Again hit two homers while
Keith Todd, had three hits, Clint Murray.
• and Chad Stanley had two hits eadt.
• Lucknow's next game was the surprise of
thetournament as they beat Palmerston 11
'- 9. •Palmerston never put their speed
Pitdter in to pitch until the third inning
when Lucknow had.alreadY built up a 10-2
• lead. Porter, Murray, Stanley, Todd,
Darryl Gibson,. Jeremy O'Neill and .Joel
. Sutton scored mins for Lucknow.' , •
The boys didn't have much zip left for
• the last' gan4e against 'Wroxeter and were
' beaten 12 to 1 even though they were only
• outhit six to five. LucknoW won the consola-
tion trophy, Wroxeter the runner-up trophy
and' Bluevale were the duunpions.'
The Mites fast balite= kisea close one
• to Chepatow 16 - 14 on Julyl7.. Ludcnow's
. pitchers continued to give up a lot of walks
in this gaine, Clint Murray was the top
batter. as he homered and doubled. Steve
Potter kept his bat hot as he hit another
homer. Keith Todd and Chad Stanley had
• the rest of Lucknow's hits. •
On July 19, LLicknow defeated Ripley 26
-11.Steye Porter led Luclmow with a home
run mild single and icored .three runs.

Dora and Omar Brooks attended the fair
in Zurich last week. Omar (vas one of the
judges in the horse competition.
Barry ;and Marie Haldenby, Allyson;
Jason and Robbie and Barry's mother and
dad, Madeline ,and Harold Haldenby of
Sarnia spent a few weeks vacation trav-
elling to the East Coast. They spent tune
in New BrunsWick, Nova Scotia and other
plates camping along the way. They
returned to • Lucknow early Saturday
• morning.
We're sorry to see that Beth (Mrs.
. Graydon' Ritchie) is leaving LucknOw and
moving to a senior citizen apartment in
Goderith.

Ludmow's season record is now six •wins
and two losses.
• Lucknow defeated Paisley 7 - 6 in a very
exciting game on July 28. Clint Murray
•pitched an excellent game even though'he
didn't feel well. Keith Todd had a home
run and single for LudnioW. Cline Murray.
and Steve Fbrter had hits for Lucknow.
LuCknow trailed by one run in the last
inning but Keith Todd tied the game with,
his homer, and Jeremy O'Neill got the
winning run on a passed ball.
• On July 30,,Lucknow defeated Cargill 26
k. 11. Todd, OtNeffi and Murray shared the
pitching duties. Keith Todd and Sean Allan
scored four runs each. Steve Porter and ,
Jeremy O'Neil scored three runs each,
while Chad Stanley, ,Joe Sutton and Dean.
riffin got two each. On August 1 laicknow
played one of their worst • games of the
season, losing to Chepstow 20 11. Walks •
•and errors were the big problem Adrian
Hehn, Steve Porter, Keith Todd and
Dwayne Norris had hits for Lucknow.
Lucknow ended/the schedule with a record
of nine wins and 3 losses, tied .for second
•Place.
