The ten most recent years of Huron
Township and Ripley's history will be re-
created
on Sun., Aug. 4 when "The Time of
,our Lives" pageant will be presented out-
doors at the Huron Township hall in the
village.
The 1975 reunion pageant proved to be one
of the largest crowd-pleasers, '85 pageant
chairman Mary MacDonaldsaid in a recent
interview..
"It'll be a hard act to follow," said Mrs.
MacDonald, explaining between 3-5;000 en-
joyed the 1975 pageant.
Giventhe task of organizing 'a 90 -minute
show, Mrs. MacDonald had difficulty .fin-
ding a theme until having a conversation
• with Ontario's new Minister of. Health Mur-
ray Elston.
"Murray suggested that we take a look
back at the past 10 years. He should get the .
• credit," laughed Mrs. MacDonald.
The show, which starts at 8 (in case of
rain, the pageant will be field inside the
• arena) provides a variety; of dancing, sing-
ing, comedic skits and other 'numbers.
• Featured is a slide presentation of the 1975
reunion, which. will .be shown by a Xenon
machine which presents slides clearly in
broad daylight..
Lynn Lowry will present a monologue of
the last decade's farm scene in Huron while
the March 1985 Royal Bank robbery, the
rebuilding of the Pine River Cheese Fac-
tory, the closing of the Canadian National
Railway in this area, the conversion ,to
private telephone lines and the construction
of the Huron Villa senior citizen apartment
complex, and Huron Township medical cen-

Jean Anne Smeltzer will present a skit on
telephone party lines. The Scottish Country
Dancers will perform and there will also be
violin music on the outdoor • stage. Mrs.
MacDonald said many of -the events will be
illustrated. She said the evening is a light-
hearted look at the past decade.
A committee of Mrs. MacDonald, Gayle
Lowry, Elaine Pollock, Glenna Farrell,
Laurie Gibson and Don McTavish has been
working on the program. John Gamble and
Dorothy Needham will act as narrators for
the•evening while Jack Campbell and Court,
