Local Lion's club wraps u year

The Lucknow and District Lions Club is
. just finishing a very busy year under the
direction of Lion'SClub president year,
Helm.
The club successfully completed many
community betterment projects through the
year, with the most recent project being the
spearheading of a major fund-raising cam-
paign for a new Lucknow and District Arena
and Sports Complex. Other interested
citizens in the area will also be helping with
the project..
Fund-raising events for the year were the
tractor pull; a Robbie Burns night, which
hopefully will be an annual event The -club"

The Lucknow and District Lions Club held their elections last Monday night at the coninnuni-

success, and The Easter Seal Campaign was
run by the Lion's Club. •
The following donations were made by the
Lucknow and District Lions Club: $10,000.00
in memory of Dr; Jack . McKim, to the
Wingham and ,District Hospital; $500.00 to
the Boy Scouts to help send them to their
Jamboree; $1,000.00 to Lion's Foundation of
Canada, where leader dogs for the blind are
raised and trained. Other donations were
made to Ronald MacDonald. House, London;
Wingham Day Care Centre; Hemophilia
Society; Participation Lodge plus many
more.
During the Lion's Club year four new
members joined.
