The Sunday School of the Lucknow United Church made a presentation to Gordon. Morrison
in recognition of 'his many years of service to the Sunday school. Gordon has been the
treasurer since 1934. Prior to this, he assisted his mother, Mrs. Samuel Morrison, who was
the secretary -treasurer of the Sunday school. Making the presentation to Mr. Morrison is-

Bell's leave on holidays
Rev: and Mrs. George Bell left on Monday
to spend their holiday month of July at their
cottage near Peterborough. While they are
away, service -for. Chalmers Presbyterian.
and Whitechurch• United congregations will,
be held in Chalmers Church at 10 a.m. with
Sunday School at 11.:15 a.m. Those conduc-
- ting services will be Rev. William Hender-
son of .Lucknow, Mrs. Jack .Whytock of
Whitechurch and Mrs. , Elinor Ward of
Wingham. The sacrament of the Lords Sup-
per and .l3aptism will be administered .by
Rev. William Henderson on July 7.
Whitechurch W.omens Institute took a bus
trip on Thursday, June 27 supervised by.
Evelyn Gibb - and Norma Falconer for
Nicholson- Bus Lines: They travelled - to '
Elmira, St. Jacobs,:Kitchener Market, Fair-
view Mall for shopping with roast beef sup-
per at Cedar.Barn. There were 43 on the bus
with all enjoying the trip. ,

celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary.,
There will be no Womens Institute
meeting in July due to many of the members
being on holidays.
Congratulations to Karen Lubbers on win-
ning a .$25 prize for her essay in Topic on -a
Famous Canadian, Terry Fox.
Karen Lubbers' mother held a . birthday -
party on Tuesday for her.. Present were Rita
Mulder, Dugannon; ,Michelle Sneider,
Kinloss; Heidi' Sherwood,Goderich; Lori
Exel, Whitechurch; ' Michelle Slotegroat,
Dungannon. They all had a good time and
Karen received many lovely gifts.
Mrs. John. Bell of Inverhuron visited on
Monday with Mr. and Mrs: Victor Emerson.
Farrishs host farewell party
On Friday evening quite.a number of the
old friends and neighbours of George and
Betty Moncrief Met at the home of Bill and
Jean Farrish of Ashfield' Township for a
farewell party for Gorge and Betty, who
recently left the comrnunity and moved into
Goderich on Market Stireet..
Donald Simpson opened the get-to-gether
with the singing of Grace. A very bountiful'
pot luck supper was enjoyed by all.
Ross MacKenzie, ' who used to be a
neighbour of the Moncriefs and is now living
in ' Goderich read the address. Bertha
MacKenzie presented the Moncriefs with a
beautiful Hummel wall, plaque. George and
Betty thanked everyone • very warmly for
their gift.
David MacDonald gave a couple of bag
pipe' selections. A very sociable evening was
had by all. •
•Visiting with Rhetta MacLennan for a
couple of days was h r sister-in-law. Peggy
Jardine of Harristoriand her niece' Doris
Huston of Ayton, and also •two'apf' her
daughters, Louise Millar of Palmerston and
Florence MacLennan of Kitchener.
George, 'Andrea, Julie and Michael Mac;,
Donald were in' Detroit, Michigan on the
weekend and attended the annual Uuibert
reunion..
Jim and Cecil Webster of Waterloo were
home on the weekend with their parents,
Wellington and Kae Webster. On Saturday
they Visited with Norma Young in Goderich
and later with Wynn Gammie in Lucknow.
Mrs. Lloyd Brien of Ridgetown is spen-
ding awhile with her sister Luther.
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Robbattended a
familypicnic and shower in Belmore for
Mrs. Robb's niece Dianne Scott.
Congratulations to Helen Kempton and
Brian Van. Oash on their •upcoming mar-
riage. Helen is.the youngest daughter of Bill
and Janet Ken-ipton of Point Clark and
Brian is a son of Peter and Betty Van Oash
of Ashfield township. The wedding will take
place July 6' at the Kingsbridge Roman
Catholic Church. •
There will be a .bridal shower for Helen
Kempton at the Reids Corner Hall, July 1 in
honour of her upcoming marriage to Brian
Van Oash.

Wingham Voice for Life is planning to
hold its annual garage :and bake sale at the
home, of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Sjaarda, three
miles west of Wingham, from 11 a.m. to 9
p.m. on Friday, June 28: Proceeds will go
towards the educational activities of the
group. .
