BUSIN-SSS
A new business in Lucknow which opened
last" Thursday holds the promise of offering
your favourite things.
Mrs: Evelyn Hackett of RR 3 Lucknow
and Mrs. Ruth Alton of RR 7 Lucknow are
the owners of, Your Favourite Things which
they describe"'as a "gift and craft store."
The store offers a number of unique gift
items such as articles made of wicker,
brass, china, and crystal as well as " han-
dicrafts, silk flowers, ceramics, quilts and a
lot of children gifts.
Mrs. Alton says approximately 20 per cent
of the articles in the store are hand Made by
local crafters. "The quilts, wood articles as
well as the ceramics are hand made.
The partners were both delighted with
-how well the business has been received
within the Lucknow community. "We're
happy with the reception on the first day of
business," said Mrs. Hackett:
Before the store opened there was a lot of.
preparation that had to be done, says Mrs.
Hackett. Besides renovating the building, a
number of bu `ng trips were made to
distributers as w11 as to local crafters in the
area.
Both say they went into the business,
because they've always wanted to set up a
craft shop for a long time and finally decid-
ed to get together on it.
Mrs. Alton says the name Your Favourite
Things stemmed from the song title My
Favourite Things. She says there was so
many names registered but the name they
chose was "new, catchy and different."
Thestore is open six days' a week from
9:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. ' .
