Peter Van Dyke, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill
Van Dyke, and Lisa Gibson, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Gibson, exchanged
wedding vows at Pine River United Church
on May 18, 1985 with Rev. Robert Stokes
officiating. The maid of honour was Laurie
Gibson, sister of the bride. The brides-
maids were Bonnie Sinnett and Brenda
Kemp, friends of the bride. The best man
was Stephen Howard, friend of the groom.
The ushers were Donnie Kuik, friend of the
groom, . and Henry Van Dyke, brother of
the groom. Following the reception in
Lucknow, the couple honeymooned in the
Muskokas. Peter and Lisa Van Dyke are
residing at R. R 3, Goderich.

Blakefamilypicnic held
The 1985 Blake family picnic was held on
Sunday, June 9, at the Stratford Park, with
an attendance of 54.
Following a delicious lunch, president
Jim Pentland conducted the business. A
minute of silence was observed for depart-
ed members, Barry Morrison will be the
president for 1986.
After a baseball game and visiting; Greg
and Wilma Blake conducted games and
relay races and contests for all ages. Teams
were chosen. the winners were: water in
the milk jug game, Doug Aitchison's team;
cotton ball relay, Jim Pentland and Murray
Irvin's team; ladies • 50 foot dash, Sandra
Morrison and Joanne Pentland; smallest
dash, Darlene Aitchison; men's javelin
throw, Doug Aitchison and Karl Morrison
(tied); three legged race, Doug and Daryl
Aitchison; wheelbarrow race, Jodie and
Glenn Webster; children's kick the slipper,
Shane Webster and count the candy in the
jar, Ralph Morrison.
After a candy scramble for the children,
every one sat down to an enjoyable supper.
Lucknow Mites win forst two games
The Lucknow .Mites fastball team played
their first game of the season against Paisly
and carne away with a 12-7. victory on May
29. • Keith Todd, Shane McDougall, Chad
Stanley, Adrian Helm, Dean Tiffin, Joel Sut-
ton and Colin Humphrey scored runs for
Lucknow. Keith Todd pitched a strong game
striking out 17 batters. He also homered dur-
ing the game.
The squad won their second straight game
of the season, this time beating Ripley 20-4
on June 6. Keith Todd and Clint Murray
shared the pitching duties. Joel Sutton,
Chad Stanley, Keith Todd, Clint Murray,
Shawn Bellmore and Shane McDougall
scored two runs each for Lucknow.
