Barb Sparks is holidaying at home with
her parents after spending the past three
years in Africa as a missionary.
Sunday was the 129th anniversary ser-
vice at South. Kinloss Presbyterian Church
with Rev. Glenn Noble of. Swift Current,
Saskatchewan, as the guest speaker. Glenn
and Lois and their, daughter, Leslie, are
spending a few days in Lucknow with Mary
McIntosh. and Jessie Johnston.
The Crigellan Trio of Goderich were the
guest singers for -the evening service.
During the morning service, a crocheted
wall hanging of the Lord's Prayer was
dedicated to South Kinloss church. It was
presented as a gift and was hand made by
Mary Carter. Ira Dickie unveiled" this
beautiful framed -hanging.
Mr. and Mrs. Ron Austin and boys of
•Strathroy and Mr. and Mrs. George Moffat
and family of Goderich were Sunday
visitors with Eunice and Ray Cunningham.
Mr. and Mrs. Ira Dickie attended a
nephew's wedding in "Kitchener on Satur-
day. On Sunday afternoon,' they were at a
retirement tea for Glenn Hepburn in Owen
Sound. Glenn was an elementary school
principal.
SOUTH
Sunday dinner guests with Fraser and
Doris MacKinnon and Murray were Mary
and Jim Frayne and daughter Catherine of
Goderich and John MacKinnon.
On Monday, a few people from this area
enjoyed the Horticultural bus trip to
Meaford, Holland Marsh, Midhurst, An-
gus and Barrie. All enjoyed this trip very.
much.
An item that was in last week's South
Kinloss news was printed wrong. It should
have read:

London that visited with Mr. and Mrs.
Fraser MacKinnon.

Grandmothers. receive corsage
President Luba . Strutton chaired the
June meeting of St. Helens branch of the
'W .L Since this was the grandmothers'
meeting, each grandmother received a
lovely corsage from the hostesses, Jean
Phillips and Irene Markham. For the roll
call, 19 members recalled fond memories
of their grandmothers.
Last minute arrangements for the
Huronview birthday party were made by
those intending to go.
It was decided to cater to a family picnic
at the, hall on June 15. Raffle tickets for a
quilt were distributed among members.
The draw will be made at the Fall Rally and
proceeds will go to the district.
Edith Cooper gave an excellent compre-
hensive report on the district annual
meeting which, was held in Wingham on
May 27.
Isobel Miller congratulated the canvas-
sers for the Canadian Cancer Society, on
the total collection of $550.00 surpassing
all previous years.
A suggestion from the County library
Board that a hand rail be put up on the
stairs leading up to the library, is to be
acted on immediately. Ross Errington will
be asked to install it.
Members voted to send donations to the
Tornado Relief Fund and also a neigh-
bourhood family who recently lost their
house by fire.
Isobel Miller read, Minutes of Yester-
year, and Jean Phillips gave a reading.
Current events were compiled and read by
Margaret Cranston.
Jean Phillips and Irene Markham served
delicious lunch of cheesecake, after
which the meeting adjourned.
Fashion show at Pinecrest
Nursing Home Week this year will be
from June 17 - 20. We are once again
trying to raise money for the Alzheimer
Society. The schoolchildren will be around
once again with the pledge sheets. Please
help. Last year the community helped us to
donate $1,000 to this cause. We can't thank
you enough. ,
The Wheel-a-thon will be held on Friday,
June 14 at 10 p.m. this year. Some of our
dates couldn't 'fit with Nursing Home
W eek.
We'll be having Geri Fashions at Pine -
crest on June 12 from 11:00 a.m, until 3
p.m. Everyone is welcome to come and
shop. The residents will put on a fashion
show at 2 p.m. the same day.
Kingarf will be at the home June 20 to
entertain the residents. .
The residents will be showing the film,
/Ma and Pa Kettle, at the Fair June 25. A
refreshment booth will be open and every-
one is welcome.
Birthdays for June are Gib Hamilton,
Minnie Emmerson, Enuna Bell and Ray-
mond Finnigan. Birthdays held in May
were Becky Elliott, Vicki Jones, Jessie
Kirkland and Tillie MacKenzie.
Thanks to the Kincardine Baptist Church
for helping us to celebrate those birthday's.
Special thanks to everyone else who
visited with us in May. A special thanks
also to the Salvation Army and Elmer
Umbach for their weekly visits.
