Rotary Music Festival in Walkerton. These seven students placed in the top three in vocal

Marlene Martin and Stephen Tiffin of Lucknow Central Public School were winners at the
recent Mid -Western Ontario Mid -Western Rotary Music Festival in Walkerton. They both
placed first in the solo vocal categories at the .music festival.

receive awards

U. C. W . ladies of Trinity attended a
special service at Donnybrook Church
Tuesday evening when Don and Helen
Gard of Goderich showed their most
enjoyable slides of their two year stay in
Tanzania, Africa under Cuso.
4-H achievement day was held at
Brookside School Wednesday evening for
the 4-H girls actionwear project. Suzanne.
Alton was presented with her 18 year dub
award; Debbie Raynard with her. Provincial
award and Nancy Hunter with county
honours. Congratulations girls.
Get well wishes to Virginia Hackett who
was transferred from W Ingham and
District Hospital to St. °loseph's • in Landon
and to Jim Hunter and Bob Kelly who are
in University, Hospital at London; also to
Willie Hendriks who is also still in
University Hospital.
Congratulations to Brenda Hackett,
daughter of Lorne and Hazel Hackett and
Michelle Humphrey, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. George Humphrey, who graduated as
RN.A.s from Wingham and District
Hospital. Graduation was held Friday and
attended by their families.
Lane Gardner returned Monday, May
20, having attended the 31st annual Royal.
Canadian Navy reunion, held in Cornwall
on the weekend.

The community will be glad to hear that
Elmer Culbert is now home from a London
hospital, where he was a patient for
approximately three weeks, but is now
coming along very well. Get well soon

Mayme Wilkins spent a little while with
her sister and brother-in-law, Charles and
Ruby Riach in Woodstock.
The many friends and neighbours of
Mrs. Lester (Audrey) Ferguson will be glad
to hear that she has now returned home to
Huron Township and is improving very
nicely. Get well soon, Audrey.
On Sunday, May 12 five babies were
baptized in the Pine River United Church.
They were Lisa Lanine Courtney, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Ian Courtney; Jeffrey
Richard Joseph Gravel, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Joseph Gravel;. Daniel William
Kempton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas
Kempton; Kelly Margeurite Matheson,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Allan Matheson
and Angela Kristina Mitchell, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Mitchell.
Finlay MacDonald and his son, George
MacDonald and some other friends of
Kitchener, are enjoying a few days fishing
in Northern Ontario at 1.4tke Panach.
Mr. and Mrs. Art Matthewman attended
the funeral of Mrs. Matthewnian's brother-
in-law, Bill Graham of Deep River. After
the funeral they went on to Sudbury to
attend a birthday party for their grandson,
Beau Pettis.
Dorothy Finlayson and Mrs. Matthew -
man attended a china painting seminar for
a week in Lucknow.
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Robb, Glenn
Robb, Bob, Sandra and 'Leather Darling
attended the chistening of Karen Christine
Irvin at the Trinity United Church, and
later visited at the Irvin home.
A bridal shower was held at Reids
Corner Hall on Friday evening for Lasa
Gibson. A lovely program Was provided
