OBITUARIES
David Kennedy
David Kennedy, a former member of
Kincardine town council, died in Kincard-
ine General Hospital on Friday, April 26,
1985. He was in his 90th year.
In additior to serving several terms on
Kincardine town council, he also served on
the Public Utilities Commission and was
chairman of the P.U.C. in Kincardine for a
number of years.
Mr. Kennedy joined the 160th Bruce
Battalion in Lucknow and served overseas
in the First World War and was wounded,

Mr. , Kennedy was a C.N.R. section
foreman in Kincardine for 48 years prior to
his retirement. He was a member of the
Presbyterian' church and was a life member
of Branch 183 of the Canadian Legion.
Born in Kinloss Township on July 15,•
1895, he was the son of the late William
Kennedy and Catherine MacPherson. He
married, the late Elizabeth Bannerman,
formerly of Culross Township, on May 21,
1919.
He is survived by one brother, William,
of Walkerton and his children, Earl of
Walkerton, William of Sarnia, Thelma
(Mrs. Doug Drennan) of Kincardine and
Loma (Mrs. Orval Wilson) of 'Culross
Township.
- Mr. Kennedy was predeceased by one
son, Lorne Russell; four sisters, Mrs.
Margaret McIntosh of Lac now, Mrs.
Elizabeth McInnes and Mrs. Lexie McIn-
nes of Walkerton, Mrs. Annie Scatterty of
Harrow, and two brothers, Jack of
Lucknow and Alexander of Detroit, Michi-
gan.
Funeral service was conducted at the
MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Home,
Kincardine on Sunday, April 28, 1985 at 2
p.m. Rev. George Turner of the Presby-
terian Church officiated. A memorial
service by the Legion was held at , the
funeral home on Saturday, April 27, at 7.30,
p.m.
Honorary pallbearers were Mr. Ken-
nedy's grandsons, Ronald Kennedy of
Courtright, Allan Drennan of Oshawa,
Dennis Drennan of Clinton and Ronald
Wilson of Kincardine.
Burial was at the Kincardine Cemetery.
Grace (Nivins) Clutton
Grace Clutton, formerly of W est W awa-
nosh Township, died in `Alexandra Marine
and . General Hospital in Goderich on
Monday, April 29, 1985. She was 47 years
of age.
She is survived by her husband Dougall
and five children, Valerie_Van, Hende of St.
Thomas, Brenda Knapp of Toronto, Darrell
of . Pasadina, California, and Lisa and
Penny at home.
She is also survived by 10 brothers and
sisters, Elsie (Mrs. William Hardy) of
Belgrave; Margaret (Mrs. Lloyd Brindley)
of Saltford; Mary Nivins of Goderich;
Adeline (Mrs. Clarence . Allin) of Colborne
Township) Wes and Alex Nivins of West
W awanosh Township; Betty (Mrs. David
Sproul) of Dungannon; June (Mrs. -Murray
Rourke) of Colborne Township; Isabel
(Mrs. Frank Doherty) of Port Albert and
Elma (Mrs Leonard Jenkins) of Goderich.
Funeral service was held on. Thursday;
May 2 at 1.30 p.m. with Mr. Richard
Wilding officiating.
Pallbearers were Keith Hardy, Doug
Brindley, Ralph Nivins, Paul Doherty,
Larry Allin and Scott Jenkins.

I would like to take this opportunity, to
thank all those local businesses and indiv-
iduals who contributed generously, making
our recent campaign a success. The
Canadian Diabetes Association, raised over
two thousands dollars locally.
Diabetes affects over one million Canad-
ians. The Canadian Diabetes Association's
goal isto gind the cause and an eventual
cure for Diabetes, while supplying the
diabetic with information and educational
material to aid in day to day control. To this
end, we are having an open information
evening at the Kincardine Hospital,
Thursday, May 16 at 8 p.m. We will be
having demonstrations of exciting new aids
for diabetics, including a "syringeless"
insulin injector, insulin pump, blood
glucose monitor, and sleep sensor. With
the support of all the community we will
reach our goals.

W.M.S. at Manor
The afternoon auxiliary of the Luckr ow
Presbyterian Church W.M.S. entertained
the residents of Pinecrest Manor on April
30.
Mrs. Omar Brooks opened the afternoon
meeting with a hymn followed by the
reading of Paslm 100, by Mrs. James
little.
The program leader, Mrs. Austin/I-0ree,,
took over the meeting and opened with
some old hymns and readings. Mrs. Bert
Moffat, the pianist, played old songs and
hymns. •
Mrs. Ivan Conley favoured with two
lovely pieces on the banjo accompanied by
Mrs. Moffat on piano.
Mrs. William Henderson and Mrs.
Wallace Wilson gave two lovely readings.
The meeting closed with a prayer by
Mrs. Noble Johnston, after which the
ladies served lunch.
