Attend Holstein Convention
Recently Jim and Fran Farrell of Purple
Grove attended the National Holstein con-
vention in London. Christine, and Carmen
spent a few days with Fran's parents.
Janice Miller, Susan McDonald and Jor-
dan Roberts of London were home for the
weekend.
Jack and Janet Farrell, Gary, Laura and
family sperit Sunday supper with Don and
Marian McDonald of Kincardine.
Stefani McDonald attended a pony club
clinic held in Kincardine on Sunday.
Tobi and Jenny Farrell spent Friday with
Meagan McDonald.
Congratulations to Sandra and Ed
McGillivray on the birth of their son, also
Grandma Katharine Collins on her first
erandson.
Shantel and Dwight Irwin of Ripley and
PURPLE GROVE
Crystal Middlekamp of Ripley area spent
last Sunday with the McDonalds fishing.
Cathrine Scott spent a few days with her
'daughterierances Watke of Hanover area.
Marjorie Thompson spent Sunday evening
with Cathrine Scott.
Callers this week with Morley and Deanna
Scott were Isabel Stanley, Michael Doupe,
Betty and Jorey Helm and Fred and Susan
Doupe, Andrew and Ryan.
Marjorie Thompson is spending a few
days this week with Bert on the farm.
UCW entertains church congregation
members over 75 years young/
The fellowship room at the LacknoW
United Church' was decorated with daffo-
dils for the -spring noon luncheon on
Thursday, April 25. All the men and
women in the congregation over 75 years of
age were given a hot ham dinner
compliments of the Community Friendship
and Visiting committee of the U.C.W . The
shut-ins and others who have been ill were
also delivered dinners.
As the 35 guests were gathering Rev-
erend Warren McDougall played the piano
and he also said the Grace.

Following the dinner, Mrs. Harvey
Houston thanked the committee for the
meal on behalf of everyone.
Mrs. Eldon Bradley was chairlady for the
short lively program. Mrs. Charles McDon-
ald opened with a humorous reading and
Mrs. Keith Doirim sang a solo accompan•
-
, ied by Mrs. William Graham on the piano.
She also sang several familiar hymns and
every one joined singing the choruses.
Mrs. Robert Irwin gave a reading followed
by a piano instrumental by Mrs. Mary
MacGillivray. Mrs. Clarence Ritchie gave
another humorous reading.
Mrs. Bradley closed with a .poem and all
joined in the singing of a hymn.
