Midgets down two in series
Fbllowing weekend action, the Ludmow
Midgets are down a game in their series with
Langton. Langton Won the first and third
games rather easily while the Ludmow team
posted a home ice victory on Riday night.
Last Wednesday in Langton, the Ludmow
team met a strong aggressive squad that
bumped hard and , handled the puck well.
Although Langton scored early, Ludmow
battled back and managed to tie the score.
HoweVer, by the end of the period the pattern
was set. Unable to adjust to the aggression
and intimidation on the ice, ,hurt from
physical abuse and upset by inactivity from
game ofEcials, the Ludmow attack degener-
ated. By the end of the seCond, Langton naa
piled up a 6 - 2 lead and skated to a 9 - 4 win.
• The score sheet showed: Chris Irwin, 3
assists; Brad Priestap 1 goal, 1 assist; Andy
Grazier 1 goal; Dan Gilchrist 1 goal; Steve.
Murray 1 goal.
In Friday's home stand the' Midgets skated
with pride and determination to a well
deserved 6;- 4 victory in a game that had a
much better tone. The teams were very
evenly matched, through two periods 'as the
score was tied four times.
Brad Priestap scored the games fust goal
from Irwin but early in the second frame
Langton grabbed a 2 - 1 lead. Goals by Dan

town advantage. Langton persisted with two
more but a goal by Brad Priestap from
Gilchrist tied the score at 4 late inthe second
period.
Early in third period action a goal by Steve
Murray from Irwin and Priestap gave
Lucicnow the winning edge and late in the
period a goal by Darren McKim from
Huffman and Yandervelde added a comfort-
ing edge.
Sunday's match in Langton was like a
re -run of a very bad movie as the team
registered a "worst ever". While badly
outshot in the first period, superb goal-
tending by Dean Lindsay held Langton off the
score board'. However, the Lucknow team lost
their 'cool, their confidence and the gain
about five minutes into the second period
when Langton opened the scoring on a 5 on 3
and just never stopped. Ludmow was
outclassed Mall aspects of the game as they
went down the pipe by a 10 - 1 score.
The next game in the series is scheduled
for Lucknow on Friday at 8.30 p.m. A luclmow

It took until' midway through the second
