Spend break with grandparents
Megan, Jemrifer and Tim Eedy of
Mississauga and Matthew and Andrew Ott of
Kitchener are spending the winter break with
their gramma and grampa, Colleen and Irvine
Eedy.
The February 27• weekly . euehre at. the
Seniors Complex saw 16 tables m play. Belle
Mole had high lady score. Low lady score was.
Lois Haggitt. High man was Randy Kerr and
low man was Ken Cardiff.
The horseshoe shaped cake made and
decorated by Denise Maize was won by Jean
Broughton.
There were 14.tables of euchre on March 6.
High lady was Margaret Young. Low lady was
Aileennommer. High man was Clarence
Allin and low man was George Errington. The
seniors are busy preparing for their St.
Patrick's tea and bake sale this Saturday at
the complex.

Congratulations to Rob and Beth Robson on
the birth of a daughter, Alisha Dawn at St.
Joseph's Hospital, London.
Congratulations to Margaret Mole who
celebrated her birthday on Monday, March
11. On Sunday her family treated her to a
birthday supper at the Bedford Hotel. There
were 24 relatives from Kincardine, Dungan-
non. Brussels and Hensall present.
Lee Sheller and Marie Park spent last
Thursday in London. when Mane had to go
back to University Hospital for a checkup.
Speaks about family services
The Dungannon Women's Institute held
their March meeting at the home of Myrtle
Kerr in Goderich. Bessie McNee vice-presid-
ent, presided.
After opening exercises, Norma Martin
convener of Family Affairs introduced guest
speaker, Kim Wihnont. Kim works with
Family and Children's Services of Huron
-Couety. She was thanked by Willetta.
McWhinney and presented with a gift.
• There were fourteen members and one
• guest present. The mll call, a treatment of a
minor accident or ailment, brought forth
many good suggestions.
It was announced that Summary Day for
the Srnoeldng Course will be April 11 in
Clinton. Plans were fmalized for the dessert
card party. A bus trip to the &land Lee Home
was discussed.
Each member gave seven cents for every,
radio and TV in their horne to the Pennies for
Riendship Rind.

McClenagah recently. He went to school in
grade 7 and 8 with Carl. He lived with his
, mother, the 'former Betty Wadel, who
married Hogan, at the home of „his grand-
father, Jack Wadel.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim McKague of Behnore
visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Carl);
McClenaghan.
On Wednesday Mr. and Mrs. Carl
McClenaghan visited Mr. and Mrs. Brad
Sachs of Hanover.

Surprise party
A surprise birthday party was held at
Purple Grove Community Centre on Sunday
afternoon, Mardi 10 for Fanny McFarlane
who celebrated with her family. A total of 58
attended from Kincardine, Ripley Owen
Sound, London, Mitchell, Seafoith, Tiverton
and Anglehast. They enjoyed a buffet dinner.
Fanny's three sons and their families from
British Columbia telephoned to send Happy
Birthday wishes. Fanny expressed her
appreciation for the party and beautiful gifts.
Visitors on the weekend wit/114r. and Mrs.
E.' W. Beecroft were Karen of Kitchener and
on Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Archie Hertel of
Kitchener and ' Ken Sinnamori of 'Wingham
Mrs. Hertel and Mrs. Beecroft went on
Sunday to visit their sister, Mrs. MacMillan
of Lucknow, whci has been ill with shingles.,

Mrs. Young's grade 1 is teaming how to
tell time.
Miss Garland's kindergarten class have
been pairing with a grade 4 student and
making a life size picture of themselves with
• an illustrated story of family.
Mrs. Worsell's grade 4 etass has been
working in the library, researching material
on elephants to make a booklet.
Mts. Camemn's kindergarten made pen-
guins and things out of popsicle sticks. They
have been talking about famili% and making
a family album.
Howard Barger
• On Thursday, February 21, 1985, Howard
Barger, Lucknow, passed away in Wingham
and District Hospital in his 88th year.
Bom in Vaughan lbwriship, York County,
he moved to Ashfield, with his parents, John
Barger and Margaret Glazier, in 1921. He
farmed on concession 2 and concession 12.
until retirement.
Howard had a keen interest in most
spectator sports but preferred hockey and
baseball. He served several years on Ashfield
Township Council in the 60s, before retiring
to Lucknow in 1967.
He is survived by his wife, the former Ida
Hamilton, whom he married in 1926; two
sons, Alan of Ashfield TOwnstrip, James of
Renfrew and one daughter, Sybil Mercer of
Southampton, and seven granddeildren; also
one sister Pearl Bradley of Thornhill, and
brother Cordon of Lucknow. Predeceased by
two brothers, two sisters and a grandson.
The funeral service was conducted from the
MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Home by

Ewen MacDonald
• Ewen MacDonald of Alberne, British Col-
umbia, a brother of Peter MacDonald and
Donalda Ritdde of Lucknow passed away
recently.
A son of the late Duncan MacDonald and
Mary Gillies, he was born in West WaWarrosh
Township 80 years ago. He spent most of his
life in western Canada. He was, married to
Zenna Trye who Predeceased him.
He leaves to mourn his passing, a step son
Flank a brother Peter MacDonald and a
sister, Donalda, Mrs, Andrew Ritchie of
Lucknow.
He .was predeceased by his wife, his
.parents and two brothers, George and Jack.
