Congratulations to Lindell Cross of our
community who was thosen Princess at the
farm show at, InndOn. She was sponsored by
the Lucknow Agricultural Society and was
'also chosen Queen of the Whterfest at

Mr. and Mrs. Don Bushell returned home
after a nice Florida holiday.

Jansen of Cochrane on the birth -of a baby

The Resolutions meeting of the Holyrood
Women's Institute was held on Thursday
afternoon at the home of Mrs. Flank
Maulden. She took the topic on our twin
province, New Brunswick, giving some of its
history, and using a map to show the various
Places which she mentioned.
The motto, Women with Potential, was
prepared by Mrs. Tom Biglow and read by
Mrs. Charles Murray. The roll call was, An
Irish Joke.
Contests were conducted by Mrs. Charles
Murray and Mts. Flank Maulden. 'Mrs.
Harold Smith gave a humorous reading, and
also talked about the District. Directors'
meeting luncheon on March 26 at Holyrood.
Mrs. Alex Percy and Mrs. Weir Ecken-
swiller were judges for the cookie contest.and
. Mrs. Ellwood Elliott and Mrs. Douglas
McEwan were winners.
Mrs. Charles Murray was in charge of the
meeting.. Following the opening, the secret-
ary -treasurer, Mrs. William MacPherson
read the minutes and communications. It was',
decided to enter an exhibit in the Lndcnow
Fall Fair.
Hockey players from our township who
played with Ripley through the years and are
known as the Ripley Old niters Hockey Stars
went to Montreal a week ago where 48 teams
were in the C.O. H.A. tournament. The bus
was driven by Leonard Stanley and company.
Ten passengers enjoyed the trip to
- Montreal, namely Mr. and Mts. Leonard
Stanley, Arthur Stanley, Barry Johnston, Mr.
and Mrs. 0. Geertsma, Mr. and Mrs. J.
Voisin, Ross Forster and Don Fisher. There
were two New Brunswick teams, onefteam
from Ottawa and one ' from Coldwater,
Alberta. The Perth, New Brunswick team was
the fmal team to play the lads from here and
the Ripley Old Tuners proudly won the Gold
Medal Division F trophy. They returned home
• in the storm on Monday, arriving safely at. 7

Congratulations to Dr. Mel Corrin who
received the Doctor of the Year Award.
Some months ago when Kinlough residents
heard Dr. Conin's name had been entered;
we got behind our doctor with letters' and
canis mailed to the administrative director of
the Ontario Medical Association with our
votes ,for the Family Physician of the Year
award.
Just recently, I again came across the
address and wondered why we hadn't 'heard
something about who received the honour.
