tions on the project, Baking, which
involves the making -of biscuits, pies and
cakes.

tradition, an early spring. •
Mr. and Mrs. Michael, Burke and Paul
Currie of Downsview spent the weekend
with their parents; Mr. and Mrs. John A.
Currie.
On Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Carl McCien-
aghan visited with his sister, Eileen Parker
of Exeter and on Monday with Mr. and
Mrs. Mack Stewart of Kitchener.
On Thursday Mrs.- Hugh McMillan,
Sarniaand Isabel Tiffin, Lucknow were
callers on Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Tiffin.
Mr. and Mrs. "Wallace Wilson were
visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Tiffin on
Wednesday.
Norma Rintoul visited on Sunday with
Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Robinson, Mark,
Tracy and Tim of Belgrave.
Mr. and Mrs. Neil Rintoul, Steven, Scott
and Stuart of West. Wawanosh, visited on
Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Mack Cardiff of
Brussels. r

Cardiff -.of Brussels visited with .Norma
Rintoul.
We are sorry to report that Hazel Purdon
is a patient in Wingham .Hospital. This
community wishes her a most speedy re-
covery.
Gertrude Tiffin of Wingham visited Fri-
day with Mr. and Mrs. Victor Emerson and
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Tiffin.
This cogmmunity was saddened by the
sudden passing of Dan Tiffin of Wingham.
Dan was born on the farm on the fourth 'of
Kinloss where hegrew to manhood. After
being married, he lived on highway 86,
second concession; Kinloss and village of
Whitechurch, before moving to Wingham.
He and his wife and family, while at these
residences, endeared themselves to all and
gave of their talents in the community.
Visitors on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs: E.
W. Beecroft were Karen Beecroft, Ronald
Beecroft, Shannon and' Heather, and
Sharon Worth of Wingham.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Elliott and Karen
visited : Sunday with . Mr. and. Mrs. Paul
Elliott, Jeffery, Leslie and Matthew of
Brussels.

Chalmers Presbyterian Church held
their annual meeting Friday, February 2.
Rev. Paul Mills was chairman and
Archie Purdon was secretary.
Rev. ' Mills opened the meeting with a
short worship service. Archie Purdon read
the minutes of the 1984/ annual meeting.
The annual report was read and adopted
as printed.
The election of officers for, 1985 was
held. 'Re-elected to Board of Trustees were
John Gaunt, Don Ross and William R.
Purdon. Agnes Gaunt,, .Norma Rintoul,
Mary Simpson, David Ross ' and Lori
Falconer were, elected to the board of
managers. Ushers will ' be William R.
Purdon, William Young, Archie Purdon,
Dave Moffat, Bob Ross, Neil Rintoul and
Wallace Milligan is chairman ofthe board
of managers. Archie Purdon is secretary.
Agnes Gaunt is treasurer.
Rev. Paul Mills closed the meeting with
prayer. • '

The U.C.W. held their February meeting
Friday at the home 'of Mrs. Russel
Chapman.
The roll call was answered by six giving
information on Korea.
The minutes were read by secretary,
Mrs. Russel Chapman. Mrs. Dave Gibb
read the scripture, and read . a letter from
McDaniel Phillips, telling of their life. in
Bonaires.
Muriel Thompson gave a talk on Korea.
In 1945 it was divided in two parts. The
north portion is under communist rule and
the south has a military government. In
1984 Korea celebrated 100 years of christ-
ianity. There are 38 million people in
Korea, the size of Newfoundland.
Agnes Farrier gave a report of the. Pres-
byterial meeting , held in Wingham on
Monday. Mrs. Chapman closed the
meeting with prayer.
