Atoms win
tournament
Members of the Lucknow Atom` hockey
team jumped for joy after they hustled
their way no a 4 - 2 victory over Howick in
the championship. game. • of the second
annual Wingham Optimist Atom Hockey
Tournament last weekend.
Earlier in the day Clinton had bombed
Brussels 9 - 1 to take the consolation title.
Eight teams took part in the tournament,
which got underway Friday afternoon and
wound up on Saturday. The host team,
Wingham, shut out Brussels 3 -. 0 in the
opening game of the .tournament while
Howick trounced Seaforth •7 - 0; Lucknow
downed Mitchell 5 1 and Elma=Logan
doubled Clinton 4 . - 2.,
In championship round action on Satur-
day, Wingham went down to defeat 6 1 at
the hands of a strong Howick squad, while
Lucknow defeated Elma-Logan 5 - 3.
On the consolation ,side, a match
between Brussels and Seaforth went into
overtime before •.Brussels ' emerged victor-
ious by a score of 2 = 1. Clinton had no
trouble dumping Mitchell 7 1 in the other
match.
Adam Skillen of Lucknow was selected
as the most valuable player in the tourn--
ment, while Howick was honouredas the
most sportsman like team.

Sunday with his brother, Mr. and Mrs.
Dick de. Boer of Bluevale.

Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Emerson, Sharon
and Brenda of St. Catharines and Darlene
Emerson of St. Thomas visited from
Saturday until New Years day with Mr. and
