Edna Pletch of Brussels was honoured recently by the staff of the Brussels Branch of the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, on the occasion of her retirement after serving the local branch for more than 17 years. Mrs. Pletch began her career as a teller in 1969, working her way up to head teller within a few years, and serving as the bank’s assistant administrative officer in recent years. Her official retirement took place on September 1, but on September 3 her colleagues treated her to a retirement dinner at The Golden Lantern, where they surprised her with the gifts of a collector’s plate and a cake which read “Happy Retirement, Edna.’’ Mrs. Pletch will continue to live in Brussels, eqjoying more leisure time with her family. There will be no foreman at this time because of the lack of experience that any of those hired will have in the specifics of this particular job. Both Mr. Pipe and Mr. Hastings will be taking jobs driving trucks.
