Edna Pletch of Brussels was honoured recently by the staff of the
Brussels Branch of the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, on the
occasion of her retirement after serving the local branch for more than
17 years. Mrs. Pletch began her career as a teller in 1969, working her
way up to head teller within a few years, and serving as the bank’s
assistant administrative officer in recent years. Her official retirement
took place on September 1, but on September 3 her colleagues treated
her to a retirement dinner at The Golden Lantern, where they
surprised her with the gifts of a collector’s plate and a cake which read
“Happy Retirement, Edna.’’ Mrs. Pletch will continue to live
in Brussels, eqjoying more leisure time with her family.
