Couple weds at Zurich, to live in Bayfield Paul Douglas Haggittof Bay- of Bayfield were united in marriage field and Margaret Louise Alcock August 1, 1987 at Spruce Haven. HAGGITT-ALCOCK Blyth minister returns to pulpit Zurich. Rev. Karl Schuessler conducted the ceremony. The groom is the son of George and Mary HaggittofZurichand the bride the daughter of Frank Alcock of Brussels and Ella Gwynn (Mrs. Carman Gwynn) of Blyth. Matron of hon ou rw as Shelley HaggittofZurich. Bridesmaids were Sherry Edwards of Bayfield and Marylou Befurt of Kitchener. Flowergirl was Michelle Befurt, Kitchener. The bride wore a white three- quarter length dress while the matron of honour wore blue and the bridesmaids wore pink. The flowergirl was dressed similarly to the bride. Jim Oesch of Zurich was groomsman while guests were ushered by Randy McKinnon and Pat Flanigan, both of Zurich. Nathenial Haggitt of Huron Park was the ringbearer. Following the wedding recep­ tion was held at the Zurich Community Centre. After a camp­ ing trip to Parry Sound the couple took up residence in Bayfield. The congregation of Blyth Unit­ ed Church welcomed back their minister Rev. Lorenzo Ramirez on Sept. 6th following his August holidays. He spoke on “Life in God’s Service’’ based on the words of Paul to the Romans in Chapter 12. He said “Sacrifice is when we do things for others, rather than for ourselves’’; “Goddoesn’taskus to be perfect, but we must try to do our very best’’. His second point was that we must in humility recognize the talent God has given us and be willing to use it. He said that we must learn to love genuinely and practise to be perfect in Christian Discipleship. Mr. Rameriz usedalargeand small potato to illustrate his talk with the children. He pointed out that a small potato would, when planted, produce as many potatoes as a large potato, and added that little new potatoes are almost nicer than larger ones. He told the children that even though they were small, they were very important people in God’s sight. It was announced that next Sunday, September 13, will be Rally Day for the Sunday School, beginning at 9:45 a.m. There will be a special class for parents bringing their children and any others who wish to come. Debt review meeting Sept. 16 George McLaughlin, head of the Farm Debt Review Board will be the guest speaker at the October meeting of the Huron County Federation of Agriculture to be held at Clinton, Sept. 16. Mr. McLaughlin will discuss the working of the debt review panels, their make-up and their role. The meeting will be held at the Clinton Public School at 8:30 p.m. The meeting will also be the regional annual meeting of the Federation at which Regional Directors to the Ontario Federation and delegates to the OFA annual meeting in November will be selected.
