Blyth will lose a widely acclaim ed architect’s firm next month because of lack of commercial space for the rapidly expanding company. Christopher Borgal confirmed last week that his company will be moving to Goderich in September to a location that will offer more space for growth. The firm, which employs six people besides Mr. Borgal has been operating from a historic house on King St. West but the rapidly expanding reputation of the firm has brought it so much work that it has outgrown the building. The house originally served as both home and office but last year the Borgals moved to Port Albert leaving the house entirely for the office. Mr. Borgal said he feels badly leaving Blyth since it has been so good to him but had to make a business decision. He needed 3,000 square feet of space to accommodate his office and that amount just wasn’t available at an affordable cost in Blyth. He has purchased a large house in God erich with more than 4,000 square feet of space and will rent out some space to another business for the People Mary and Lloyd Walden, Arnold and Erma Cook visited a few days last week with Bill Bush at his cottage at Crystal Lake. Miss Heather McDowell of Toronto was a guest on Sunday at the home of her aunt and uncle Feme and Harve McDowell. Murray McDowell of Cookstown was a visitor in Blyth for a few days, at the beginning of the week, staying at the home of his sister Feme and brother-in-law Harvey McDowell. time being. He will continue tobe involved in Blyth however, he said, working on expansion plans for the Blyth Festival. He’ll rentoutthe house in Blyth. It was the Festival that originally brought him to Blyth. He was involved with Nick Hill in the firm of Hill and Borgal when he was assigned the work of designing a new wing for Memorial Hall in the late 1970’s. He liked the village so much he bought a house then, then Hill and Borgal dissolved their partnership, he moved his office to Blyth.
