Mr. and Mrs. Russell Miners Brookses celebrate 50th Couple to live in Bluevale area BRADSHAW - MINERS Tracey Lynn Bradshaw and Russell Carl Miners were married in a double-ring ceremony, Satur­ day, June 27, 1987 at Melville Presbyterian Church, Brussels with Rev. V. Jamieson officiating. The bride is the daughter of Mary Bradshaw of Brussels. The groom is the son of Carl and Marianne MinersofRR 2, Blue­ vale. Maid of Honour was Lynne Taylor, friend of the bride. Brides­ maids were Jennifer Miners, sister of the groom, Angela Harris, friend of the bride and Peggy Keffer, friend of the bride. The Damage heavy in 2 farm implement fires Damage was heavy in two separate farm implement fires, both of which occurred August 6, according to Wingham Fire Chief Harley Gaunt. A John Deere combine owned by Jim Bolesworth and Henry Beyers- bergen of RR 1, Ethel caught fire while being repaired with an electric welder at the farm of Don Henry, Lot 50, Concession 1 of Morris Township, resulting in flowergirl was Laura Warwick, niece of the groom. Bestman was Bruce Weber, friend of the groom. Guests were ushered by Robbie Glew, cousin of the bride; Glenn Miners, brother of the groom; and Murray Keffer, friend of the groom. Ringbearer was Curtis Meyers, cousin of the bride. Pianist was Jo Anne King and soloist was Margaret Shortreed. A reception was held at the Brussels, Morris and Grey Com­ munity Centre. After returning from their honeymoon in Jamaica the couple will reside at RR 2, Bluevale. $12,000 to $15,000 in damage. Firemen were called to extinguish the blaze at about 3:30 p.m. In an unrelated incident later the same day, Wingham firemen responded to a call to County Road 34 in Howick Twp. to battle a fire apparently caused by an overheat­ ed bearing on a forage harvester owned by Robert Hastie of Gorrie. Damage in the incident was estimated at $30,000. The afternoon of August 16 was a happy occasion for Edwin and Margaret Brooks as they celebrat­ ed their 50th wedding anniversary at a reception at the home of their son and daughter-in-law, Mac and Brenda Brooks of Blyth. One hundred and fifty guests were in attendance. A popular viewing spot for the guests was the table displaying not only cards and gifts and the plaque presented by Jack Riddell to commemorate the Brooks’ “50th”, but also precious memen­ tos such as a scrap book of “Days Gone By” compiled by daughter- in-law Brenda, the wedding certifi­ cate, and a Westerminister mantel clock which was a wedding gift of 50 years ago. Presiding at the attractive buffet table, centred with a carved out watermelon filled with fruit, (com­ pliments of Margaret Anderson of Londesboro), were Vera Hessel- wood, a former neighbour; Bernice McClinchey, friend of the bride; and Brenda Brook’s sister, Sharee Bartliff of Clinton. They were assisted by granddaughter Nicole Brooks and a friend Lori Sinnamon of Bayfield. Delicious fancy sand­ wiches, petit fours, fruit punch, coffee and tea were served.
