Under the guidance of a local volunteer committee, the experiment succeeded beyond anybody’s wildest dreams, with more than 80 people taking advantage of the first session, which was offered in the spring of 1986, using local instructors whenever possible, who conducted classes at various locations within the village. Since then, two further sessions have been offered in Brussels, while a fourth session will get underway in September. Within the next few weeks, the courses available will be advertised in local newspapers, while the brochure covering the entire range of courses offered by Conestoga at its seven major campuses, as well as at Brussels, will be in the mail to every householder late in August. Those interested in registering for any of these courses may do so by applying to the appropriate campus, while those interested in applying for the courses offered in Brussels must register at the Clinton campus, by calling 482-3458. At press time, the list of courses to be offered locally this fall was not available, but further information may be obtained by calling the Conestoga Committee chairman in Brussels, Ruth Sauve, at 887-9324.
