At the final Turkey Bingo, December 19, winners of turkeys were: Vera Hastings, Joan Pletch, Neil Pipe, Joyce Jacklin, Marjorie Hartleib, Kaye Duncan, Frances Shaw, Cal Krauter, Pat Shaw, Paul Willie, Lloyd Wheeler, Lois Whit- tard, Eluned McNair and Bill Eckmeir. The first special prize of $25 was won by Lloyd Wheeler. The second Callander news Christmas busy at' home special of $25 was won by Myrle Cousins. The third special of $25 was shared by Ray Brenie, Don Jacklin and Ruth Lowe. The Share-the-Wealth of $55 was won by Kim McWhirter. The door prize of a turkey went to Myrle Cousins. The Ladies’ Auxiliary 50/50 Draw was made at the last bingo. Thisyearthedrawwas divided into three equal parts. The lucky winners were: Donna Knight, Jeff Alcock and Don Sholdice who each won $37. New Year’s Eve there was a pot luck party at the Legion down­ stairs. There was also a dance sponsored by the Brussels Bulls, Junior D hockey team upstairs. Everyone had an enjoyable time. The Brussels Horticultural So­ ciety will hold its annual meeting in the Brussels Library on Monday, January 12. at 2 p.m. Wilbur and Jenny Turnbull will be celebrating their 69th wedding anniversary on Friday, January 9. Rhonda Fischer won a calculator and portfolio from Stewart Phar­ macy. Word has been received of the death of Mrs. Jack Sellers (nee Souch) in Moosejaw Lodge in her 93rd year. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Mildred Stewart of Wingham and two daughters, Stella Hurrell and Leora Snelling of Victoria, B.C. and her sons Jim Sellers of Odessa, Ontario and Fred and Delmore of Vancouver, B.C. Peggy Cudmore spent Christ­ mas week in Gorrie with her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Nay. Brussels man dies at age 51 ELVIN JAMES McWHIRTER Elvin James McWhirter of Brussels died Dec. 27, 1986 in Wingham and District Hospital. He was 51 years of age. He was the son of the late William and Grace McWhirter. He is survived by three children, Isabelle, Tracy and Kim, all of Brussels. He is also survived by seven sisters: Evelyn, Mrs. George Kerr; Ellen, Mrs. Bill Hoffman; Edna, On Christmas Day, Eva and Oliver Stewart were out to visit with their family. Helen Poirior visited with Lillian Cox. Mary Clark visited with Howard Clark and they went out to visit the family. EllaandCarmenGwynn visited with Marion Leatherland. Mr. Short visited with Mrs. Short. Adine Smith was out to spend the day with herfamily. Mrs. Grobbink spent Christmas with her daugh­ ter. Maggie Griffith was out with her family.
