Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Emerson, Darlane, Sharon and Brenda of St. Catharines spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Victor Emerson. -• Dalton Schultz returned home on Friday from Wingham Hospital. Tom Jamieson was permitted to leave Wingham Hospital and go to Cosy Corners Nursing Home down by Herman 15e Bruyns, west of Whitechurch. On Monday evening a very successful sale with a large crowd in attendance was held at the home of Mrs. Earl Caslick. Bill Kennedy of Toronto, while on holidays, was a recent caller on Miss Annie Kennedy of Wingham. Jack Kennedy of Hamilton is holidaying with his parents Mr. and Mrs. George Kennedy and assisting with haying operations. / We are pleased to report that Mrs. Annie Irwin of Mitchell returned home last week from Stratford Hospital, where she had been a patient for a few weeks. This community was shocked to learn on Thursday of the sudden passing of The Very Reverend Dr. Allan Farris, principal of Knox College, who a few weeks ago preached the anniversary services at Chalmer's Church, White- church. A Memorial service is being held on Monday at Knox College, which will be attended by the ministers 44 the community.
