ST. HELENS
Recent visitors with Mrs. Gordon
MacPherson were Mr. and Mrs.
Fred Thompson and sons Bill and
Ben, all of Caledon. Her grandson,
Bill, remained for the week. Also
visiting is Steve Princecox of
Caledon. While the. Thompsons
were here they visited with Gordon
MacPherson, who is a patient in
the Wingham Hospitql.
Mr. John Siecker returned
home this week after spending a
couple of weeks in hospital in
Burlington. While away his son
Robbie was also an out-patient in
the Wingham Hospital for treat-
ment for a' broken bone in his foot.
Mr. and Mrs. Norman Taylor
have returned to the Kitchener-
Waterloo area after residing in the
St. Helens area for two years. Mr.
and ;Mrs. C. Gibb, who shared the
household with the Taylors are
remaining as residents in the
former manse. Mrs. Gibb's mother
will be joining them in the fall.
Sunday visitors with Mr. and
Mrs. Wayne Todd were Mr. and
Mrs. Antone Makovshis of Etobi-
coke, Mrs. Aldis Makovshis and
family of Willowdale, Miss Hope
Schreiber of Willowdale, Mr. and
Mrs. Verdun Ducharme of Wing-
ham and Mr. and Mrs. Paul
Moody and Jason of Wingham..
Mr. and Mrs. Bob MacGillivray
will• be home this week with their
newborn daughter, Michelle.
Michelle was born on Sunday,'Iuly
3rd, 1977. Congratulations to the
new parents and grandparents,
Mr. and Mrs. Ross Errington and
Mrs. Stewart MacGillivray of
Lucknow.
Wawanash Man
Died Suddenly
WILLIAM ROBERT DURNIN
William Robert Durnin,, a former
West Wawanosh Township farmer,
died suddenly on Tuesday, June
21st after suffering a heart attack at
Pine Lodge, Lucknow, where he
had been .a resident ,since May
16th. 'He was in his 85th year.
Born in West Wawanosh, he was
a son of John Durnin and Margaret
Ann Woods. He never married.
Mr. Durnin is survived by three
brothers, Harry of Londesboro,
Case of London and Lorne of
Whitechurch.
He was predeceased by his
parents, one sister Annie and one
brother John.
The funeral service was field on
Thursday, June 24th at MacKenzie
Memorial Chapel, Lucknow. Rev.
Albert Cook minister of St. Helens
United Church, of which the
deceased was a member, conduct-
ed the service. Interment was in
Greenhill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Earl Durnin,
Graeme Anderson, Joe Foran,
Donald Murray, Albert Taylor,
Harold Cook.
Flower bearers were Frank
McQuillin, Mike Foran, Loyed
Woods, Wilbert Durnin.

Mrs. Maithel Wilson present-
ed the Honour Roll Plaque to
Debbie Austin, Dean Doherty
and Tom Foran.
Graduation diplomas and pen
and pencil sets, a gift from the
Catholic Women's Leagues,
were presented to all the
graduates by Mrs. Marian
Donais, representing St.
Mary's, Lucknow C.W.L.; Mrs.
Emma Franken, representing
St. Augustine C.W.L.; Mrs.
Betty Doherty, representing
Kingsbridge C.W.L.
Memorial bibles "Good News
for Modern Man" were donated
and presented to all graduates
by Melvin O'Reilly of Windsor.
Mr. O'Reilly was introduced by
Father Ed Dentinger. He is a
former resident and attended
school it Kingsbridge. The
inscription on the bibles reads
"A Merge to of Your Gradua-
tion from t.. Joseph's School,
Kingsbridg , Ontario on June
28, 1977. Mr: O'Reilly-spoke to
the graduates, and guests. He
asked his sister Mrs. Ethel
Ganter,,aged 86 and, who came
all the way from Boulder,
Colorado and his niece Mrs. 'Pat
Hutchins, Goderich to stand.
Mr. O'Reilly was thanked by
Dave Zyluk.
