S. #2, Kingsbridge, included the fourth annual tree planting ceremony, a memorial tribute to the late Joseph P. Griffin and his wife, the former Bridget Mary Lennon, of Pickering, Ontario. Griffin was born in Kingsbridge, a grandson of the late Morgan King, one of the first eight settlers to come to this area. He served on the Ashfield' Council as Deputy Reeve 1883 and Reeve 1884-1894 and was Warden of Huron County. Moving to Goder- ich in 1895, he served as jailor of the now Huron Historic Gaol for 24 years. The residence was built in 1900.
