Two long time teachers at
Lucknow Central Public School will
retire, this year, and Sunday
presented an opportunity for
friends to visit and honour them at
a retirement party at the school.
Mrs. Jack (Mary) Fisher, pictur-,
ed on the left, commenced teaching
at Lucknow Central Public /School
in 1961 following a number of years
service in other communities. She
was presented with a gold pendant
watch, suitably engraved, by Lynne
Hilverda, standing, a grade" 8
student and daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Joe Hilverda of Lucknow.
Lynne was the grade 8 valedictor-
ian at the graduation exercises on
Monday evening and received the
award for girls' general proficien-

days per week from 8 a.m. to 5

On the right is Mrs. Lloyd
(Helen) Hall who is retiring as
kindergarten teacher. Helen first
commenced teaching at Lucknow
31 years ago, and except for a brief
period in raising her family, has
been a' staff member ever since:

.MacIntyre, 6, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Donald Maclntyre of Kinloss.
Sandy presented Mrs. Hall with a
gold enscribed pendant watch-.
In addition to the watches, each
lady received a gift of money from
friends and former students, both
near and far.

to attend each day, but a number of
regular children are required to
form a base to establish the
service. The girls would conduct
crafts, indoor and outdoor games,
would use the park playground
equipment, have a reading hour
and the possibility of a bible school
for part of the time. Sleeping
facilities would be provided 'for
younger children. The girls have
set the cost at about $3 per day, if
enough are' interested.
Mary Eadie is a student at F. E.
Madill Secondary School in Wing-
ham and will be in grade 13 next
term.
Cheryl Haldenby has graduated
from F. E. Madill and will attend
Fanshawe College studying as a
law clerk next Fall.
