The winning teams of Senior Girls and Senior Boys were from Colborne School. Junior Boys' winning team was from Brookside and Junior Girls' winners were from Robert- son. In-school spelling bees were held to pick spellers to take part in the Jubilee 3 Spelling Match in Goderich in July: Those picked in the senior division were, Greg . Wilson, Theresa Taylor and SYlke _Becker with spares-- Eliz ab-et h- Wilkins and Diane Gibson. The spares would go to Jubilee 3 in the event any of the first three named were unable to go. In the junior division the spellers picked were. Scott Wilson, Eliza- beth Jefferson and Nancy Sproul with spares Tracey Rising and 14 Marilyn Jamieson. On Wednesday Mrs. D. Graham and her grade 6 class accompanied by Mrs. Bere took a bus trip to Midland, where they toured the Indian Village, the museum, the Martyr's Shrine and the Mission of St. Marie among the Huronia. It was a full but interesting day and the bus driver; Mrs. Brenda Naylor had them back at the school just after 10.30 p.m. Intended for last week The grade five class from room 10, accompanied by several moth- ers and teachers, Mr. Ross Errington and Mrs. Mary Bere, took a bus trip to Niagara Falls on Friday. They toured the Marine- land and Game Farm seeing the Dolphin show and- show including seals and Killer Whales. Some of the group took the tour under the Falls while others went through a wax museum and viewed the Falls from an observation deck. The weather co-operated beautifully and the bus was back at Brookside at 8.40 p.m. Grade .3 and 4 with teacher Mrs. Dorothy Chisholm and grade 4 and 5 with teacher Mrs. Tebbutt and four parents took a bus trip on Friday to Doon Pioneer. They ate lunch at picnic tables on the grounds of the Pioneer Village, saw through many interesting buildings and were back at Brookside at 3.45 p.m. Students' Council provided the film "Shane" which was viewed in the auditorium by different grades on Thursday and Friday. R. 2 Kincardine who were married in the Trinity United Church, Ashfield on Saturday, June 18 at 3 p.m. A . large crowd attended the reception held in the Lucknow Arena following "their marriage'. Sincere sympathy is extended to the Hayden families on the death of Mrs. Carman Hayden in the Alexandra Marine and General Hospital, Goderich. The funeral was held on Sunday,. June 19 with burial in the Dungannon Cemetery, The Knights of Columbus Mass and -Communion Breakfast- was held in the St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church, St. Augustine on Sunday, June 19. Mass was celebrated by Reverend Father Caughlin, associate parish priest. Following Mass approximately 75 guests were served breakfast in the parish hall by the members of the St, Augustine Catholic Women's League. Master of ceremonies, Eugene Frayne, introduced the head table guests: Bill Hallahan, Navigator; Jerry Petrie, Grand Knight and President of the Father Nagel Council, Goderich, #5420, and Mrs. Petrie; Gaeton Jacques, Deputy . Mr. and Mrs. Jack VanOsch returned from a holiday in Holland on Friday, June 17. Mr. VanOsch was adMitted to the ' Wingham , and District Hospital and transfer- red. to St. Joseph's Hospital, London for surgery on Monday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Danny Frayne of Cambridge, Galt visited on the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Frayne and family. Dan Kelly of Bridgen spent the weekend with his brother. Walter Kelly. Mr. and Mrs. John O'Neill and family of Jackson, Michigan spent the weekend at their summer home here. Congratulations to Margaret Therese Phelan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Phelan of Blyth and to Tom Young, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Young of Dungannon, who were married on Saturday, June 18 in Christ Church, Port Albert. Many attended the reception held in the Blyth arena auditorium following their marriage. A "Walter Miller" night is being planned for Saturday, June 25 to be held at the Skyline Hotel, Malton. Mrs. Mildred Hogan visited for one week with her sister Mrs. Glenda Jairala, Mr. Jairala and family in Chicago. Mr. Raymond Hogan motored to Chicago and he and Mildred took a trip to Iowa and Wisconsin returning to Chicago to bring Mrs. Jairala and her two children to Kingsbridge for a 10 day holiday. A bridal shower is being planned for Miss Anne VanDiepenbeek, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank VanDiepenbeek, to be held in the Kingsbridge Parish Hall on Thurs- day, June 30 at 8.30 p.m. Anne will be married to Stephen Andrew, son of Mr. • and Mrs. William Andrewon Saturday, July 9th in St. Joseph's Church, Kingsbridge. A large crowd attended the dance held at the Lucknow Arena on Friday,, June 17 sponsored by the Lucknow Lancers Intermediate "C" Hockey . Clubs Music for dancing was by "Lincoln Green". There were door prizes,' and spot dances followed by lunch. Anne Marie Howard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Howard and Mary Anne Boyle, daughter of Mr. and MrS. Raymond Boyle of,St. Augustine flew from Toronto Inter- national Airport on Wednesday, June 15 for a 3 week vacation with the former's relatives and friends in Ireland. Doctor Terry O'Connor and Mrs. O'Connor of Sco.ville, visited on Sunday, June 19 with Raymond Dalton and the Dalton. families. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas O'LOugh- lin and daughter Patrice of Kirkland Lake visited on Sunday, June 19th with Mrs. Jack Kinney. Misses Lisa Frayne, 'Sarah Brophy and Dana Helsic, all pupils of the Cumbrae School of Dancing with instructor Mrs. Marian Harv- ey, took part in a dance recital it the Town Hall in Kincardine on Friday and Saturday evenings, June 17 and 18'. Reverend Father Ed Dentinger, C.R. attended a day of retreat at St. Columban Parish on Tuesday, June •14. The day concluded with a concelebrated mass at 8 p.m. to which the public was invited. The election for Parish advisory board officers for St. . Joseph's, Kingsbridge took place on Sunday, June 12. Several from this area enjoyed the .fun filled game of slow pitch ball between the CKNX Try Hards and the Dungannon Aggies held at the Dungannon Ball park an,d played under the new lights on Friday evening, June 17th. The final score was 13 to 12 for the Aggies. This game was sponsored by the Dungannon Agricultural Society and proceeds will go towards a new roof on the Agricultural Hall. Mrs. Vincent Austin, a patient in Victoria Hospital, London since May 26 was released from the hospital on Wednesday, June 15th.. Welcome is given to Mr. and Mrs. Bob Snyder and boys who are residing in the house formerly occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Austin and family on the 6th of Ashfield. 73 cartons of used clothing were packed and shipped to Combere- mere by the Kingsbridge Catholic Women's League. The choir from Waterloo took part in the singing during Mass at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Kingsbridge on Sunday, June 19 and spent the afternoon at the Resurrection Camp at Lake Huron. Mark Lalonde and Shawn Dalton left hy motOreyele on Tliursilay; June 16 and attended the wedding, of Mark's brother Jim Lalonde at New Liskeard on Saturday, June 18. They left New Liskeard on Sunday travelling to Edson, Alber- ta for employment during the summer months. Grades 7 and 8 students held a school dance in the school auditor- ium on Friday evening, June 17. Students from Sacred Heart School, Wingham; St. Mary's, Goderich; St. Anthony's, Kincard- ine were special guests. Mrs. Joseph (Mary) O'Keefe will teach kindergarten at St. Joseph's School, Kingsbridge'. Duties to commence on September 1, 1977. Mrs. O'Keefe will replace Mrs. who is leaving this area to make her home in Brownyale, Alberta. Harold Zettler will be teaching at St. Joseph's School, Kingsbridge with ,duties commencing Septem- ber 1., 1977. We welcome Mr. .Zettler to this' community. ' Sunday visitors with Mrs. Mark Dalton and family were her father Mr. D. J. Lassaline, who was able to leave the Alexandra Hospital, Goderich for the afternoon and her daughter Mr. and Mrs. Bruce (Ann Dalton) of Mississauga.
