WEDNESDAY, JUNE 22, 1977 birthday on Saturday having her friend Julie Thompson of Auburn. Mr. and 'Mrs. Tom Helm and family visited Sunday afternoon with her sister, Mr. and Mrs. Ron Farrell and family of Ripley. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wilkins and family had Barbara, Mrs. Jim Sheppard, home for Sunday. Also her mother, Mrs. Wm. Irwin and Lloyd, Pat Dunn and Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Alton were visitors on Sunday. Bus Trip To Erland Lee Home Kairshea Women's Institute members accompanied by Holy- rood Women's Institute and friends, numbering 43, enjoyed a bus trip on June 8th leaving, Lucknow at 8 a.m. with bus driver Cecil .Garniss. The first stop at 10.30 a.m. was Andres Wines Limited, Hamilton, where we were toured through the plant. Continuing from here we arrived at Erland Lee Home, Stoney Creek, at 12.30 p.m. This being visitors week, we were the 5th bus load of ladies to arrive. All enjoyed • a box lunch on the lawn before touring through the Home.. Continuing back to Hamilton the group 'toured the Hamilton Spect- ator and Dundurn Castle, both interesting and educational. Leav- ing Hamilton we continued to Guelph, stopping at a Mall for shopping and a meal, arriving back in Lucknow at 10 p.m. All enjoyed the day. LANGSIDE Sympathy of the community is extended to Mr. and Mrs. Ross Cayley and family in the loss of Mrs. Cayley's mother, Mrs. Quinn, who passed away on Friday, June 17. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Broome of Bluevale visited on Wednesday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Young. The first Holyrood Girl Guides Co. went camping Friday and Saturday on Leo Murray's farm. They all enjoyed it. Congratulations to Bert Moffat and Donalda Scott, who were married on Saturday at the Presbyterian Church in Lucknow. Bert and Donalda are both former residents of Langside. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Springer spent the weekend in Toronto and attended the wedding of their cousin. Mrs. Robena Stewart of Tees- water visited with her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Moffat, on Sunday. Austin When the Canadian Dairy Com- mission announced. its dairy policy last April some sweeping changes were made to . try to pull into line the shaky state of the industrial milk industry. One major problem was the $152 million debt accumulated by the Export Fund. The government proposed'to write it off - but at the same time indicated it would in future impose a 25 cent per cwt. levy on fluid milk to assist in offsetting the cost of export sales. Mr. and Mrs Philip Steer sang a duet and the Langwlr: Junior girls sang a number ORDINATION During the evening service Mr. Kay's Ordination was held. The church was filled to capacity with ' some people being seated in the porch. Graham Kay was guest soloist and a quartet of Wendy Kay, Clara Milligan, Lorie Purdon and Vicki Scott sang a number. Nancy de Boer was organist. Following the service lunch was served in the basement after which presentations and speeches were held in the church. Our student minister is now Reverend James Beverley Kay.
