Neighbours from the 6th attend- ed a couples shower on Friday night at Wellesley Community Hall for Cathy Stever and Don Kuntz, who are to be married in July. Cathy is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Stever. Mr. and Mrs.„ Leonard Clark, Laurie and Julie visited at Brant- ford on the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Clark and Mr. and Mrs. James Montgomery spent a weekend in Nashville. The band members from this area went on the band trip to Toronto and Niagara Falls on Thursday and Friday and then to London on Saturday to march and play in the Lions parade. A good time was had by one and all. Teresa Murray and Heather Hackett spent a weekend recently with Carol Buckmeier. Carol spent last Saturday night with Bonnie Clark. The South Kinloss church choir participated in singing with the choirs of other churches at the Christian Reformed Church on Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Vint received ,riany lovely gifts. An auction sale will be held Saturday afternoon for Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bongertman at their farm. Mr. and Mrs. Bongertman have sold their farm and bought a home in Lucknow where they will be moving later. Mr. and Mrs. Ian Wallace, Nancy and Susan of London visited with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Philip Steer, on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Young visited Sunday evening. with Mr. and Mrs. Jim Broome of Bluevale. Mrs. Linda Broome, Kenny and Laurie of Listowel also visited at the same home. , A number from this district attended the dance at Whitechurch Saturday evening held in honourof the fiftieth wedding anniversary of Wes and Jean Tiffin. A large crowd was in attendance. Some from here attended the opening of the new community centre in Teeswater on Saturday evening. There was a good program which, was enjoyed. by a large crowd. Mr. and Mrs. George Young, Heather, Bradley and Cheryl of Witigham swat- the- holiday- week- end at their rebuilt log house here. On Sunday they had as visitors Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Young of Lucknow and on Monday Mr. and Mrs. Bob Young and Jane of Chesley spent the day there also. KINLOUGH 54TH ANNIVERSARY Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. William E. Haldenby who celebrat- ed their 54th wedding anniversary on Monday, May 23rd. We are sorry to report that Mrs. Haldenby suffered an injury and is a patient in the Wingham and District Hospital. We hope for a good recovery. Mrs. Raynard Ackert will be hostess for the H.W.I. meeting on Thursday evening, June 2nd at a pot luck supper at 7 o'clock. Mrs. Gertrude Walsh returned home after accompanying Mr. and Mrs. Frank Currie of Waterloo to Ottawa, where they visited with relatives, returning by way of the United States. Further Progress On Cairn At Grey Ox About 25 Grey Ox school ex-pupils and friends met at Blanche and Jack Needham's, 4th of Kinloss, on Saturday afternoon, May 14, to further consider plans for putting up a cairn to mark the "Grey Ox Corner". The meeting set up a committee to get the necessary permit from the county engineer, work out details of design and construction, and report back by July 15.
