THE LUCKNOW SENTINEL, LUCKNOW, ONTARIO PAGE NINETEEN
Sam MacGregor's reasons for
running for election in Huron-
Bruce can be condensed into one
word - energy.
He believes that there is still
time to insure that the impending
food and energy crisis does not
occur in the Province of Ontario.
However, if nothing is done to
come up with a long range energy
policy, Huron-Bruce, the province
and the nation are in trouble.
Farmers must be able to con-
tinue farming by 1985, industry
must continue to have an uninter-
rupted energy supply. Without a
self-sufficient energy' base, the
economy of the province will fail.
If Ontario's economy tumbles, so
does that of the Dominion of
Canada which can only lead to civil
disorder.
Mr. MacGregor, feels the riding
of Huron Bruce, with its energy
and, agriculture base, plus a
member who understands the
need of a comprehensive energy
policy, can be important in the
future of the province.
In short, Mr. MacGregor "knows
the importance of energy to agri-
culture and industry. Unless the
province becomes self-sufficient in
energy, it is in trouble.
Mr. MacGregor feels that the
other issues of concern - health
care, housing, jobs, etc. - can only
fall into place if, the, economy is
moving.
If the province has to rely on an
imported energy supply, the
economy will not be able to move.
If Ontario is to have a bright
future, the people of Ontario have
to understand that energy, the
economy and ecology are inter-
dependent.
