Mary F. MacDonald, Mrs. Mary R.
,1acDonald, and Mrs. Violet Mac-
(enzie returned recently from a
nuch enjoyed trip to Bonnie,
;cotland. The first week they were
stationed at Edinburgh, situated
)etween the Firths of Clyde and
7orth, which is the capital of
Scotland and attended the "Gath-
:ring of the Clans" which is held
:very" twenty five years and many
)ther Scottish events. Also they
went aboard the cruise ship
Calypso. The second week they
toured Scotland going from Edin-
burgh in a north-westerly direction
to Stirling, Oban, Ft. William,
Aviemore, Invere (as far west here
as you can be in Scotland) and
opposite the Isle of Lewis. Then to
Inverness and Aberdeen. From
here they went east to Balmoral,
Stonehaven to Dundee, travelling
south west from Dundee to Perth
continuing by Forth Road Bridge to
°Edinburgh. Many castles and
places were visited en route. Some
were Stirling Castle, Balmoral
Castle, Crathes Castle, Craithie
Church, Glamis Castle, and Scone
Palace.
It was a most interesting and
historic tour enjoyed by all.
Scotland is indeed a land of rolling
hills and beautiful fishing rivers,
colourful little towns and villages,
and long sea lochs. Variety of
scenery and interest is unsurpas-
sed anywhere in the British Isles.
