Father Ed Dentinger spent a day
in retreat at St. Joseph's parish,
Clinton, on Tuesday, May 17. The
day concluded with concelebrated
evening Mass at 8 p.m.

Brother Carl Voll arrived back on
Tuesday, May 1.7 following a
week's vacation with his family in

Miss Anne VanDiepenbeek,

VanDiepenbeek was released from
the University Hospital, London
with her leg in a cast and walking
on crutches on Saturday, May 21.

June 2. • Her marriage to Melville
Elson Arnold, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Elson Arnold of R. R. 2 Kincardine,
will take place in the Ashfield
Trinity United Church on Saturday,
June 18 at three o'clock.
SPEAKS AT SCHOOL
A visitor to St. Joseph's School at
Kingsbridge was Mr. Jones from
the Wingham office of the Ministry
of islatural Resources. He spoke to
Mrs. Frayne's grade 5 and 6 class
on "Fish'.'. The topic covered the
various types of fish found in the
BP Service Station
area, their habits and conservation
procedures. This culminated Mrs.
Frayne's unit of study on fish and
proved to be very interesting to the
students in the class.
The grade 6 students working on
measurement in Math decided to
practice their measuring techniqu-
es by making their own ice cream.
This exercise was enjoyed' by all
concerned especially wheti the ice
cream was ready for disposal.
In floor hockey, the Junior
Montreal team won both the
League and the playoffs. Members
of this team are Pat Foran, Kevin
Smith, Paul Foran, Linda Sinnett,
Carol Foran, Marian Knoop, Vicki
Doherty, John Lalonde, Shawn
Durnin and Peter Doherty; the
scores for this week were:
League: Edmonton 3, Toronto. 5;
Saskatchewan 4, Montreal 6.
Playoffs: Montreal 6, Edmonton
4; Toronto 4, Saskatchewan 3; and
the finals was' Montreal 7, Toronto
2.
In Senior Girls Handball, Debbie
Austin reached the second round.
Betty Knoop, Donna VanOsch and
Jean Vogt have managed to reach
the third round. Jean Vogt won her
third round match to advance to the
fourth round and Donna VanOsch
has reached the final round. ,
Ronnie Austin lost his semi final
game to Steven' Fray.ne who now
meets Brian Drennan in the finals
of the Senior Boys' Handball.
The winners of the Senior' Girls'
Doubles are Astrid Flasschaert and
Betty Knoop.
Brent Berry, Harry Boyle, Pat-
rick Foran, Joe Gerdes, Kevin
Smith, Brent VanOsch, Shawn
Doherty, Steven Hickey, and Paul
Turcotte reached the second round
of the Junior Boys' Handball. Brent
VanOsch is the only student to have

The Junior Girls who have
reached the second round in their
competitions are: Cathy Chisholm,
Denise Connelly, Carol Foran,
Vicki Delbergue, Christine Staple-
ton, Marion Knoop, Diane Van-
Osch and Liz Vogt. Marion Knoop
has since won het second round
game to achieve a third round
position.
Mrs. L. Splan from the Huron
County Health Unit visited the
school for a regular eye inspection
of students.
On Wednesday, May 25th a
meeting of the St. Joseph's School
Association will be held at 8.15
p.m. in the school's gymnasium.
This will be a general meeting to
explain the new structure of the
Association. This should prove to
be of interest to all the parents as
the present Association Executive
met on April 14th to discuss the
format.
Mrs. Mickey McLennan of
Collingwood spent the holiday
weekend visiting with her many
friends at Kingsbridge.
Mr. and Mrs. Kerry Hogan,
Todd and Chad of Glencoe and
Miss Fay Hogan of Owen Sound
spent the holiday weekend at the
home of their parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Con Hogan.
Mr.. and Mrs. Eddie Chilton and
son Tommy returned to their home
at Moose Factory on Monday, May
16th following a two week vacation
with her mother, Mrs. Mark Dalton
and family. They attended the
wedding of Maureen's sister Ann
to Mr. Bruce Pritchard in Kings-
bridge on Saturday, May /14 at St.
Joseph's Catholic Church.
