A delicious supper was served by the Anglican Ladies. There were 15 guests and 44 bowlers in attend- ance. It was great to see Mrs. Elizabeth McKim being able to attend the supper. A great applause was given Mr. and Mrs. McKim w.hen they arrived. His brother Grant Helm of London was also at the Whytock home. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wilkins and family had their daughter Barbara, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Sheppard of Brantford, home on Sunday and attended the John- stone reunion at Brookside School. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Ritchie and family had as visitors his sister Violet, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Smith and Bill of Molesw,orth Sunday afternoon. Allan Ritchie and Jerry Huizinga of Auburn visited Sunday with his uncle John Ritchie, a patient at Wingham Hospital with a heart condition for almost a month. Visitors on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Jim Hunter and Mrs. W. 0. Hunter _were Mr. and_ Mrst Jack Miller of Barrie and Mr. and Mrs. John L. MacKinnon of Kincardine. They all attended the Johnstone Reunion at Brookside School, when the descendants of the late James and Mary Ann Johnstone held their 1st get together and enjoyed a smorgasbord dinner at noon and plans were made to make this an annual event. A vote of thanks to the ladies was given by .Grace Campbell and the response 'was made by Mrs. Cooper, on behalf of the ladies. Afterwards, the business was discussed and Anna Johnstone acted as chairlady for the meeting. The secretary treasurer then read the bowling report which was a successful year. Election of officers followed with different things discussed for next year. Weather permitting bowling will commence at 3 p.m. All members, new and interested members and Senior Citizens are invited. executive committee is as follows, Harry Lavis', Mrs. Wilbur Brown, Spence Irwin, Mrs. Grace Gibson. Presentations were then made. The Henderson Trophy was pres- ented by Mrs. Jardine to the high season's team, The Blues, with captain Anna Dexter and her team. A very fitting poem was written and read by Mrs. Jardine. Playoff trophy to the high playoff team was made by Edna Ross to the Greens, captain Walter and his team. Mrs.. Ross Said it was a shame Mrs. McKim could not stay to be presented with the trophy ' with her team as she was the backbone .of that team. Men's high single was Harry Lavis with a score of 340, presented by Mae MacDonald., Ladies' high single was Elleda Wightman with a score of 272 presented by Anna' Dexter. Ladies' high double was Anna Johnstone, scoring 463, presented by Walter Dexter. Men's high double winner was Spence Irwin, runner up, with a score of 391. Most improved man bowler was Pharis Mathers, presented by Margaret MacDonald; most im- proved lady bowler was Mrs. VanOsch, presented by Al Irwin. Mr. VanOsch received her gift as she was not well and could not attend. , The program committee then took over and 8 tables of cards were played. Winners we're high lady, Mrs. Olive Stanley; high man, Les Purvis; 'low lady. Mrs. Ethel Rutherford; low man, Harry Lavis. A very enjoyable evening was enjoyed by all present. Hope to see everyone next year and congratu- lations to- the winning teams. We will be trying hard next year from the captain of the Red. A lovely summer to one and all. See you in September. Cameron presented a number at the South Huron Music Night at. Goderich Collegiate Institute. Mrs. Betty Swales of Midland and Mrs. Charlene Bullock of Penetang spent Thursday after- noon and Friday morning at Brookside speaking to ,the grades 6-8 on New France, Huron Mis- sions and the Huron Indians. Much interesting extra information 'about these topics was gained from their talks and from the artifacts they brought with them. Intramural baseball started this week at Brookside. Scores were as follows: Grades 7 and 8, May 10, Firebirds 7, Runners 4; Grand Slammers 2, Ex Pros 5;' Killers 0, Strikers 6; Home Runners 7, Foxy Ladies 2. Nurses from the Huron County Health Unit made a presentation to Mr. Hazlitt's Grade 6 class on Decision Making last Thursday afternoon.
