Attend Festival
For Life
The Festival for Life to be held in
Ottawa May 5, 6 and 7 will be a
strong reminder to the federal
government that two years ago a
petition signed by 1,000,000 Can-
°adians demanded protection for the
unborn.
In the interim, the government
has done nothing to stop abortions,
now being performed at the rate of
about 50,000 annually.
Theme of the Festival is "Let
Them Live". About 2,000 people
from across Canada and the United
States are expected to attend.
To publicize the Festival, Adrian
Keet, past president of Voice for
Life, Wingham, has walked to
Ottawa. Mrs. Adele Chettleburg
and Mrs. Sally Campeau will also
attend.
Among the speakers at the
Festival will be Marshall McLuhan,
Director of the Centre for Culture
and Technology in Toronto; Mal-
colm Muggeridge, author and
journalist; Dick Gregory, human
rights activist; Daniel Berrigan
S.J., author, poet, teacher; as well
as members of the Canadian
medical profession and Canadian
and U.S. pro-life leaders.
