spent the weekend in London with
Mr. and Mrs. Allan MpNee.
• Mrs. Amy Wiggins visited in,
Seaforth on the weekend with Mr.
and Mrs. George Ribey and
attended the special "service on
Sunday at which Rev. Ure Stewart
gave the sermon on ' the 70th
anniversary of his ordination.
Mr. Marvin Smith went into
Victoria Hospital ,- -London-on-the
weekend.
Mr. and Mrs. ThOs. Webster
spent the weekend with Mr. and
Mrs. Ken Thomas and family in
Bolton.
Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Irvin visited
on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs.
Gordon Finnigan and attended
anniversary service in North Street
United Church.
Miss Shelley Alton moved to
Toronto on the weekend to
commence working for. the Bell
Telephone Company.
Jim Stothers, who has spent the
last four months on a work term in
Sarnia, moved back to Waterloo for
his next academic term at Univer-
sity.
Mrs. Cecil Blake spent Thursday
and Friday with Mr. and Mrs. Jim
Blake and Sean near Allistoli. Mr.
and Mrs. Bill Blake, Becky and
Kara of Cambridge visited Mrs.
Blake in Dungannon on the
weekend.
BRIDAL SHOWER

community shower was held in the
church basement for Miss Martha
Eedy, bride-to-be. , Mrs. Judy
McMichael played music while
guests were gathering. The chair-
lady for the evening was Mrs. Sue
Brown. Nancy Errington led while
everyone sang the "How Do You
Do" song. Beth McConnell gave a
reading about the father, not of the
bride but the father of a brides-
maid. Mary Anne Boyle gave a
piano solo. A musical number was
given big-Irene Logtenberg, Mary
VVintemute and Jennifer Drennan.
Mrs. J. McMichael played "Here
Comes the Bride" while Martha
took her place at the front attended
by Mrs. Vicki Culbert, Mrs. Pat Ott
and Cathy Hoy. The address to the
bride was read by Mrs. Peggy
Jervis and the gifts were carried in
by Angela and Arletta Glenn and
Alison Haldenby. Martha thanked
the ladies very graciously after
which they sang "For, She's a Jolly
Good Fellow". A delicious lunch
and social time was enjoyed by all.
The sympathy of the community
is extended to the Patterson family
of Blyth on the death of Gail
Patterson in a car accident near
Wingham last week. Mrs.
Patterson is a teller in Dungannon
Bank of COmmerce.
Rev. H. G. Dobson spoke on

service in Dungannon United
Church. Next Sunday is Family Day
and the sacrament of Baptism will
be held. Worship service is at Nile
at 10 a.m. and Dungannon at 11.15
a.m. Remember the "Bee" to
scrub the' basement and aisles of
the sanctuary on May 11, 12.
Volunteers, men and women, are
asked to come and help. Dungan-
non U.C.W. are having pot luck
dinner and meeting on May 16 at
12.30 at which former members are
invited as guests. A good turn out
of present members is requested.
The' anniversary committees are
asked to be thinking about speak-
ers, etc. for the Fall anniversaries.
There will be a camp for Young
People and Teens 'at Camp
Menesetung on May 20-23 for ages
15 and up. Ask the minister for
particulars and forms. Also for
information contact the minister
about Senior Adult camp at Five
Oaks, May 10-12.
Rev. H. G. and Mrs. Dobson
spent Monday in Grand Bend.
Rev. H. G. Dobson attended a
Presbyterial meeting in Monkton
on Tuesday where the speaker was
from Africa.-
Despite the prevalence of colds
and flu among teachers and pupils,
all classes concerned are very busy
preparing for the spring concert at
Brookside School on May 5.

Mr. and Mrs. George Pinkney of
Walkerton, also Mr. and Mrs.
Elgin Thompson of Brucefield
visited Sunday afternoon at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon
Kirkland. The two ladies are' the
former Molly and Grace Pepper.
Neither couple knew the other
would be visiting at the Kirkland
home and needless to say it was a
pleasant get together for all.
Mrs. Eldon Ritchie visited sever-
al times with her mother, Mrs.
Ernest Bogie of Goderich, who was
admitted last Tuesday for surgery
at Alexandra Marine and General
Hospital, Goderich.
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Kirkland
' had as Sunday evening guests. Mr.
and Mrs. Wallace Wilson of
Auburn.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wilkins
visited Friday and Saturday of last
week with their daughter Barbara,
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Sheppard of
Brantford.
Mr. and Mrs. Allan Ritchie and
Bryce had as Sunday dinner
guests, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry
Huizinga and Pauline of Auburn.
Mrs. Bob Panter (Kathleen
Gardner) of Colorado and her sister
Mrs. Don Rincolini (Carol Gardner)
of California; Mrs. Lorne Woods
and Mrs. Jack McDonagh of
Lucknow called on Gordon Kirk-
lands during last week.
