The Boyles left Friday evening and visited with Brian Boyle in Peter- borough and Mr. and Mrs. Carman Hamilton and family in Lindsay and on Saturday and Sunday attended the Midget hockey games in Oakwood. Congratulations to Ripley Mid- gets who won both games away from home on the weekend. They play again on Saturday in Oakwood and is hoped they will return home with the All Ontario Trophy. Miss. Kerry Boyle of Hamilton spent the long weekend at the home of her parents. - Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. jam- Farrell and: Teresa- were Mr. and Mrs. Earl Elliott and Ian, Mr. and Mrs. John Elliott of Kincard- ine, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Greenwood and John Paul and Mr. and Mrs. Don McCosh of Ripley. Visitors during the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Don Dore and family were 'Jim Dore, of Wingham, Bill Warren of London and Cathy Dore of Kincardine. MOVE TO RIPLEY A party was held at the Community Centre on Thursday evening in honour of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Gillies who have moved the parents. Hockey sticks donated by Andy Whitby were given to 4 of the all star players. The snowbanks on the sides of the roads are almost completely melted away, and the farmers are busy re-constructing their fences that were badly damaged either by the snow or by the bulldozers. Large crowds attended auction sales for Lloyd Collins on Thurs- day, April 7 and for Cliff Livingston on Monday, April 11. Lloyd Robb will be holding his auction sale on Monday, April 18. The first meeting of the Kings- bridge Professional Development committee will be held on April 12th when the parent members meet with the school principal in order to gain information about the forms this development has taken in the past. Members of this committee are Mrs. N. Plasschaert; Mrs. E. Franken; Mrs. E. Hackett; Mrs. Clarice Dalton and Mrs. Betty Frayne. The St. Joseph's School Associa- tion executive meet on Thursday the 14th of April to prepare for a general meeting later in the school term. T.B. testing has been carried out in the school this week as well as auditory testing. Both areas are administered by the Huron County Health Unit. These tests are conducted at all schools in the county on a yearly basis. House League floor hockey has started and the scores of the senior games are: Edmonton 5, Montreal 5; Saskatchewan 5, Toronto 3; Ed- monton 3, Saskatchewan 3. Referees for the games were Tom Franken, Tom Foran and Ron Austin. The education week program has now been planned at the school. A community mass at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 18 signals the kick off and the entire community whether parents or not are invited to attend. Father Dentinger will talk about Catholic Education. The school trustee, William Kinahan, will read the lesson. On Thursday, April 21st at 8 p.m. the Garvey public speaking prize winners will be giving their speeches. These students will be accompanied by Mary Luanne Clare, a former student of St. Joseph's, Kingsbridge, who will present her outstanding speech on "Drugs" for the community to hear. Marty Bolte and Frank Dore visited Ian Elliott on the weekend. Ian has transferred to Ripley School from Windsor since the March break. Ralph Austin and John Hender- son of Calgary, Alberta are spending two weeks vacation with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Austin of Kingsbridge and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Henderson of Lucknow, follOwing a three week vacation through the southern states of Montana, Idaho, Arizona, Texas,, New Mexico, Louisiana, Alabama,' Tennessee, Kentucky and Ohio. On their return they visited overnight with Ralph's aunt, Mrs. Walter Judge, Mr. Judge and families in Jackson, Michigan, with friends in London, Ontario, arriving here on Good Friday, April 8. Raymond Dalton left here on Friday, April 1st for holidays with relatives and friends in Hamilton and Toronto. Mr. and Mrs. Terry Dalton and daughter Colleen Patricia spent the Easter Sunday holiday with her mother Mrs. George Lienhardt in St. Clements. Mr. and Mrs. Danny Frayne of Cambridge, Galt spent the Easter holiday weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Frayne and family. Hockey players on the House League hockey teams and their parents enjoyed a hockey party held at the Lucknow Arena on Monday evening, April 4. Follow- ing an hour's free skating for everyone, the All Star players took to the ice. Representing the All Stars were: Allan McWhinney, Hugh Burgsma, Bill Foran, Gerald Martin, Bernie Burgsma, and Jim Foran of the Canadiens; Brian VanOsch, David VanOsch, Richard Jurjens, Morris VanOsch, Barry Austin and Peter VanDyke of the Rangers; Bobby Hackett, Brian Arnold, Mike Frayne, David Atkin- son and Mark Abbott of the Black Hawks with Harry Burgsma as coah. Opposing the above named squad was Steve Pritchard, Ken Ritchie. Allan Stanley, Eddie VanOsch, Kevin Lindsay, Gary VanBeers of the Leafs; Eddie Davidson, Mike Dennis, Blair Alton, Steven Davidson, John Hopf, and Steven Frayne for the Bruins; Mark Haldenby, Tim Edisbury, John Edisbury, Ed Husk and John Husk of the Red Wings with Bob MacGillivray as coach. The final score was 5 to 1 for the first named players. Lunch was served to the boys, their parents, and coaches at the Legion Hall. Ross Errington was the chairman for the presentation of awards and called on the coaches for a few words. Special thanks was given to all who helped make this hockey season so successful, especially Ross Errington, the coaches, and Silver Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Ron Stanley were honoured by their children on the occasion of their silver anniversary'. The couple's family planned a dinner in Kinloss United Church where they were originally married March 22, 1952. Guests at the dinner were Ron and Milly's family, brothers, sisters and par- ents. The tables were decorated with a 3 tiered cake and vases of red sweetheart roses. Jerry Stewart very capably was master of ceremonies where many extended best wishes. Following the dinner a reception followed in the Lucknow Legion Hall to the music of Tiffin's Band. As the evening drew to a close, the couple expressed their appreciation and all enjoyed a delicious smorg- asbord dinner. Guests present were from De- troit, Kitchener, Guelph, Orange- ville, London, Crediton, Wingliarn, Kincardine, Ripley, Kinloss.
