Mr. and Mrs. Midford Wall
attended the funeral of Mrs. Wall's
aunt Miss Elleda Irwin of Toronto.
Miss Irwin was in her 76th year.
The funeral was from MacKenzie's
Funeral Home in Lucknow.
Murray Moffat, who was a
patient in University Hospital,
London after breaking his ankle
and arm in a fall, returned home
last Monday. He ,speiit a few days
at the home,of his parents., Mr. and
Mrs. Dave Moffat, then returned to
his home in Lucknow.
A hound dog which wandered to
Clifford Young's farm last Saturday
was claimed by its owner Mr..
Benniger of Culross on Tuesday.
Last year a lost hound which stayed
at the same farm belonged to a
hunter from Michigan, U.S.A.
A number of people from this
district attended the farm show in
London last week.
Sympathy of the community is
extended to' the relatives of Stuart
Scott, who passed away on Friday.
Stuart Scott farmed for many years
on the farm now owned by Mr. and
Mrs. Ross Cayley and family. He
spent the last few years at
Walkerton Nursing Horne. He was
in his 83rd year. The funeral was
on Monday from the Currie's
Funeral Home in Wingham.
The Langside Whitechurch
Young Peoples held their regular
meeting at Langside Church on
Sunday evening.

Chesley Gets
$543,318 To Assist
In Rebuilding
A Bruce County curling club with
a gymnasium are among those
facilities receiving special Wintario
help to correct unsafe conditions.
Culture and Recreation Minister
Robert Welch said a grant of
$543,318 will go to the, town of
Chesley. It is among nine projects
announced in Bruce County today
which have been approved from the
proceeds of the Ontario Lottery.
The grants total $559,086 with
amounts ranging from $543,318 to
$477.
Under the enriched Wintario
formula, the town of Chesley will
receive a grant of $543,318 to assist
in the costs of •rebuilding a curling
club and gymnasium which has
been condemned by the Ministry of
Labour.
A grant up to' $7,500 'is to be

Funeral For
Lucknow Lady
Mrs. Roy J. (Emma Alberta)
Parker of Havelock Street South,
Lucknow died at Wingham and
District Hospital on Tuesday,
March 1st following a long illness.
She was 72 years of age.
She was born in Mornington
Township on June 17, 1904, a
daughter of the late William Alfred
Lambert and Mary Jane Wafters.
Mrs. Parker was predeceased by
her husband Roy J. Parker. She is
survived by her sister Inez Alvesta
Smith of Port Credit, as well as
nieces, nephews, brothers and
sisters-in -law .
The funeral service was held on
March 3 at 2 p.m. from MacKenzie
Memorial Chapel with burial at
Douglas Hill Cemetery, Eden
Grove. Rev. Doug Kaufman of
Lucknow United Church was minis-
ter. Pallbearers were Gerald
MacPhee, Rae Haldenby, Robert
Parker and Bev Parker.

Association is .to receive a grant of
$1,050 to aid in the purchase of
hockey equipment.

Trip To Toronto
Girl Guides from Lucknow,
Teeswater and Wingham and
Lucknow Rangers travelled by bus
to Toronto on Saturday, February
26th where they toured the Girl
Guide Headquarters and visited
the Science Centre.
The Girl Guide Headquarters
held Open House to mark Scout-
Guide Week. Lucknow Rangers
Lorna Boyle, Barbara Cameron,
Kathryn McKim and Susan
Thompson acted as ,tour guides at
the Open House from 12 noon to 2
p.m.
Mrs. Dan Bellmore and Mrs. Jim
Morrison, Lucknow Guide leaders
and Guides Lori McKim, Marian
Raynard, Nancy Thompson, Kim
Sanderson, Helen Maclntyre,
Barbara Cameron, Suzanne Kirk-
land, Rosalea Cameron and Brenda
McLeod made the trip. Others from
Lucknow were Mrs. David Kirk-
land, Mrs. Allan Maclntyre, Mrs.
Bruce Raynard, Mrs. Evans Helm
