Mrs. Annie (Joe) Scott reports
that the ladies of the Ripley
Women's Institute met in the
Ripley Huron Legion Hall last
Thursday afternoon opening with
lunch. Then vice president Mrs.
Walter Lock took the chair for the
program which started with a
business session. The euchre
evening was postponed for a time.
The Institute members were asked
to help select the new curtains for
the Huron Township Hall. It was
suggested 'that many of the
meetings might be held in mem-
ber's homes. Mrs. Barbara
Gamble And Mrs. Marj MacDonald
led a Senior Training course on
quilting and brought a lovely quilt
to display at . the meeting.
Everyone admired the fine work on
it. Since this was the Institutes St.
Patrick's meeting, the singing of
Irish songs was enjoyed. Lots of
laughter was aroused by a contest
by Mrs. Minnie Lock. Some of the
members entertained with a dance.
Mrs. Mary Pollock thanked all who
had taken part to make the meeting
successful.
