The Grey-Bruce District Health
Council has received a request
from the Ministry of Health to
advise the Ministry on the rational-
ization of hospital and nursing care
beds in the Grey-Bruce District.
Council has created a task force to
study this. The task force is made
up of the following individuals:

Miss Gale Kay of Listowel was a
Sunday afternoon visitor with her
brother, Mr. Bev Kay, Mrs. Kay
and Wendy.
Mrs. Wesley Tiffin and , Mrs.
Robert Mowbray on Friday attend-
ed the funeral of the late Mr. W.
Falconer at the Kingdom Hall
Church.
Nat Thomson of Lucknow visited
Sunday evening with Mr. and Mrs.
Victor Emerson.
Congratulations from this com-
munity to Mrs. Frank Coulter, who
on Sunday, February 6 quietly
celebrated her 88th birthday at the
home of her daughter, Mrs. Dave
MacDonald and Mr. MacDonald of
Wingham. Mrs. Coulter enjoys
very good health. She has one
daughter (Isobel), Mrs. Dave
MacDonald of Wingham, with
whom she resides, one son Alex of
Goderich and one son Chester is
deceased. Mr. and Mrs. Alex
Coulter of Goderich were unable to
be present on Sunday due to
drifting snow in the Goderich area
making driving hazardous.
On February 2nd the sun shone
brightly so the groundhog Could
see his shadow and according to
the old timers we will have 6 weeks
more winter. Come on all you folks
buy a good supply of furnace oil, if
heating with hydro, keep the bills
paid up, get in a good supply of
food but go easy on the milk as it
sours quickly and prepare for
storms such as we have experienc-
ed.
Mr. and Mrs. Herb Hunter and
Trevor of London were Saturday
visitors with her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Wallace Conn.
Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Conley
and Jason, of Wingham were
Sunday visitors with Mrs. Earl
Caslick and Mr. and Mrs. Wallace

Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Campbell
of Listowel were Sunday visitors
with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill
Rintoul.
Chalmer's W.M.S. meeting will
be held Wednesday, February 1,6 at
the home of Mrs. Bill Rintoul.

Mr. and Mrs. Gary Rintoul
visited Sunday with her father Joe
Corey of Clinton and with her
mother, Mrs. Corey, a patient at
Clinton Hospital.
This community was happy to
learn that Mrs. Sadie Barbour of
St.' Helens, who recently under-
went eye surgery in Kitchener
Hospital, is recovering as rapidly
as can be expected.
Mr. and Mrs. Sandy Fair spent
the weekend with friends in
Toronto.
Kevin Falconer and Barry Elliott
on Thursday and Friday attended
the farm show at Toronto.

Elliott and 'Miss Kathy Blake Of
Brussels visited on Sunday with
Mrs. 'Agnes Elliott of Wingham.
This community was pleased to
learn that Bill Forster, who had the
misfortune to fall in the barn
during last week's storm and
injuring his hip, was fortunate to be
able to remain at home instead of
being hospitalized, with Dave
Mewhinney doing , his chores.
MrS. Clara Crowston of Lucknow
was a Saturday visitors with her
daughter, Mrs. Ivan Laidlaw, Mr.
Laidlaw and family.

Intended for last week
January 1977 should be, temem-'
bered as the stormiest for some
time. Wonder what February has
in store for us. February 2nd is
groundhog day. Will he see his
shadow, or will he be able to dig his
way out through the, snow banks to
find out.
Elmer Scott who was a patient in
Wingham Hospital has returned
home and is feeling better.
John Moffat, who was also a
patient in Wingham Hospital, has
gone to stay with his son, Mr. and
Mrs. Duncan Moffat in Waterloo,
Ernie Hanna also a patient in
Wingham Hospital was transferred
to London Hospital last Wednes-
day. We hope he will soon be able
to come home again.
. Sherry Potter celebrated her
eleventh birthday last Friday and
had Karen and Liane Young as
overnight guests.
Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Scott
attended the funeral of Mrs. Scott's
uncle, Wesley Hedley, at Kincard-
ine on Tuesday. Mr. Hedley was in
his 100th 3'ear and was a resident of
Walkerton Nursing Home for
several years.
The annual meeting of the
Langside Presbyterian 'Church,
which was to have been held on
Saturday, was postponed and also
there was no church on Sunday due
to the stormy weather.
Wesley Young of Lucknow called
on Mr: and Mrs. Clifford Young on
Friday forenoon.
Joanne Bongertman of Lucknow
spent the weekend with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert
Bongertman.

Health Council.
- The District Health Council has
also selected the firm of McKinsey
& Company, Inc., of Toronto, to
provide the consulting service
required to carry out this study and
work with the task force. The cost
of this study will be in the, range of
S30,000-545,000 depending on the
requirements as determined by the
task force and District Health
Council. The Ministry of Health
will fund this as a part of its
support to the planning function of
the Ministry. It is expected that
the study will begin during
February 1977 and will be complet-
ed over a six month period.
This district-wide study will
provide a great deal of necessary
information to the District Health
Council for both short and long
range planning.
