And helps one to forget
But time so far has only proved
How much we miss you yet. ,
How can we explain to others,
The loss we feel inside
We only know we miss you
Our tears we try to hide.
It broke our hearts to lose you
But you did not go alone

BRUCE COUNTY
FARM REPORT
FARM SAFETY
We have just received a letter
from Dr. H. B. Cotnatn, Chief
Coroner for Ontario. He has
enclosed the details of an accident
and the verdict of the coroner's
jury.
"The deceased -was a. tobacco
farmer working on his own farm.
He was a trained welder. He was
attempting to remove the top of an
old 45 gallon metal , barrel. The
barrel was about five years old and
had contained "TELON", a liquid
'soil fumigant. He was
using an acetylene cutting torch.
The barrel exploded and large
fragments of the barrel were driven
into the deceased's head.'.
The jury had three recommenda-
tions:
1. Flammable material should be
written in larger letters on the
barrel.
2. Proper education concerning the
storage and handling of all
chemicals in sealed containers.
3. Containers of such chemicals be
returnabl E.
Coriimon sense and reading
labels on conners before putting
them near heat can prevent this
from happening to you.
A hope I never read a coroner's
report like this about one of our
local farmers.
