Rebekahs
hold supper
There was a good attendance for
the pot luck supper and opening
meeting of Morning Star Rebekah
Lodge. It also helped celebrate a
delayed 55th birthday of the
Lodge.
Muriel Allen of London and Reta
Hoover of Brussels were unable to
attend. Winnifred Edgar attend
ed. These are the only original
members still belonging to the
Lodge. Winifred received a cor
sage. After the meal several items
pertaining to the beginning of the
Lodge were read. Pictures were on
display. A decorated birthday cake
was cut by Winifred. Noble Grand
Leona Connelly presided for the
regular meeting. The undraping of
the charter took place. There were
a number of thank you cards read
as well as reports of visits. Cards
and gifts were sent to sick and
shut-ins. A donation is to be sent to
Mission Services, London. Dates
were announced for the installa
tion of officers in Huron District 23
by D.D. Pres. Lillian Moses and
her staff from Brussels Lodge: Oct.
5, Exeter; Oct. 17, Clinton; Oct. 18,
Goderich; Oct. 24, Seaforth. Lis
towel Lodge will install Morning
Star officers October 11 in Brus
sels.
Morning Star will install Tees-
water officers Oct. 13. Abus will be
available for all installations.
Members will be able to accom
pany the installing staff. It was
decided to have euchres in the
Library beginning Oct. 12.
A display will be set up at the fair
by Barbs Watts, McCutcheon and
Nichols. The Fall Variety Fair date
is October 15. The President’s
project this year is donations to the
Diabetic Society.
Four members received the
birthday honours. After closing the
Lodge the installing team under
the direction of Barb McCutcheon,
held a practise.

Society
to discuss
waste
management
A special meeting on waste
management will be held by the
Goderich Medical Society on Oct.
19 in Goderich.
Entitled, ‘‘Waste Management
-The Future is Now” the program
will hear three guest speakers on
the problems of getting rid of
society’s waste. Following a film
called ‘‘Recycling is Smart”, John
Jackson of the Ontario Environ
ment Network and Don Taylor,
Wellington County Recycling Pro
gram Director will speak on
Recycling. Joanne Richter, Co-or
dinator for the Huron County
Waste Management Master Plan
