Instead Doc's wife Pat
was the one who got in-
terviewed and written up
in the Globe and Mail on
Monday, November 17,
1980. She said that she has
no complaints although
summer days When the
temperature hovers at 50
degrees Celsius (122
degrees F) it can be a
trial.
Pat told the Globe and
Mail reporter "we feel
very secure here. I've
never felt threatened."
Also she said that foreign
women need not fear the
Saudi. religious police
when they go outside the
tompOund as long as they
obey the rules. "No
driving, of course, and
only deniure dresses with
long, skirts and make sure
you sit in the back of the
bus".
She has met Saudi
women in their homes
sometimes, unveiled. One
night she was with her
husband and Saudi
women were persuaded
to, remove their veils, but
they kept-slipping them
back and forth, Off and
on. They weren't corn-
fortable with them off.

the headline "Trudeau is
